30 Bananas a Day!

I have been vegan since 22nd February and my hair has started to fall out! I follow the Raw Till 4 Lifestyle and I eat between 2000 to 3000 calories per day. I track my food on cromometer and I don't think I am deficient in anything. Also, I take a vitamin D and Vitamin B Complex supplement every morning. Has anyone had any experience with hair loss on this diet and how can I resolve it?

I'm actually experiencing the same thing right now! I'm thinking that it could be an iron deficiency as it runs in my family. I've found that rinsing my hair with a water and apple cider vinegar mixture prevents some hair loss. I've also seen improvement after increasing my leafy green intake.

I second this as well. Just stick to the diet. Its only a matter of time. I started this lifestyle in October '13 and I lost most of my hair. However it gradually lessened and now my hair is almost back to its original volume.

Hi Tinesha,

I went LFHCRV vegan back in November 2013 and I noticed that my hair was starting to fall out in January 2014.  I made sure I was eating 2,500 to 4,000 calories a day and I was getting blood work done every 6 months.  I never had any deficiencies and never under ate.  My hair shedding lasted 10-11 months.  However, I noticed hair regrowth three months after my hair started to shed.  As of today (15 month into this lifestyle still eating LFHCRV) I have a TON of little hairs growing all over my head.  My hair is definitely thinner but with all the hair regrowth I just figure its only a matter of time until all my hair comes back. 

My advice to you is to just make sure you continue to eat enough, get your blood work checked, and give yourself head messages at least once daily.  You hair shedding will eventually stop (maybe even quicker then mine did).  I know how stressful it is but honestly hang in there.  I did and I am SOOOOO happy that I didn't stop this lifestyle.  I feel so amazing each and every day and nothing beats that.  If you have any more questions please feel free to let me know.

My hair started falling out and breaking off about a year to a year and a half ago. I think maybe it was a sort of detox. Just two months ago I was worried I going to have to buy a wig. Then, maybe about three weeks ago it began to slow down. The hairloss has almost completely stopped, and the breakage has noticably slowed. I have just stayed diligent with eating LFHC Vegan.
