30 Bananas a Day!

No matter what I do, come dinner time I am hungry enough to kill something cute and furry and eat it with my bare hands..............and I am vegan. I do not know how to get over this. I had 20 bananas before dinner, 2 cups strawberries, 8 kiwis and when it was dinner time the thought of more sweet fruit made me want to have a seizure. I don't even call it cravings....I call it hunger...I feel hungry. For dinner I had some fake meat crap and salt, salt, salt. I know all I do is come here and talk about my failures but I look at everyone who is successful with this and wonder how the f@ck they do it. I cant get over this hunger. I cant explain what it is like to be starving but to look at a piece of fruit and feel like it will make you sick if you so much as smell it. I think I would probably dig something salty out of the garbage if given the opportunity. I am less hungry at night when I just don't eat at all during the day.

I am going to keep going, and wake up tomorrow and start over with another banana/strawberry smoothie. I am going to just keep trying.

it could also be that you use food to emotionally numb yourself and you are trying to get that numbed feeling you just can't get with fruit.

look up kundalini yoga and breath of fire. its really different then hatha yoga (what most people practice), but its so gear towards fixing the internal energy systems, that its perfect for strengthening the stomach. And the green smoothie totally works too for salt cravings (lots of celery sticks and even cilantro taste great with bananas). I eat up to 6 or 7 roma tomatoes a day, it contains good sodium too!

Cbs is right, eat your greens! I start the day off with a 1200 calorie green smoothie and it kicks any salt cravings.

@Jet Sung- Everyone has been telling me to do yoga...why dont I listen? Do you have any ideas for starting points?\

spekgirl- I have never been underweight or on any kind of extreme diet. I have done the paleo thing on and off for years and recently lost about 30lbs eating meat and veggies. I suppose this could have something to do with my current problems.


I ended up staying up late and I am hungry again so I am going to make an EPIC 15 banana smoothie with a couple cups of strawberries and water. Lets see if that curbs my appetite. Thank you are for your help!!

You are not hungry my friend, your stomach is just weaken by all the raw fruits, because your body has been on cooked foods for so long. Whenever you stomach feels weak, you will crave salty foods, because salty foods have a lot of heat and fire power adding "yang" to your system. Right now your stomach is too "yin" or cool to deal of all the raw fruits and veggie. I experience this in the beginning alot as well, but yoga practice have strength my "internal energy" quite a bit so I have this sort of issue happens less and less. You may want to try kunalini yoga (exercise like the "breath of fire" or qigong to strengthen your internal energy, I guarantee you will feel a huge difference.

i relate alot to this, can i ask, have you before starting 811 been on a extreme diet? because if so it can take time for the body to restore fuel in the muscles and whole system and require extra food for some time before getting back to normal.

The salt cravings could be due to not having any greens all day. I have cucumber-celery-apple juice in the morning and its killed the salt cravings.

As for hunger, try a 1/2 an avocado earlier with some greens or whatever as the fat will take care of the heavy needs. Or for now make potatoes and steamed veggies with some avocado on the potato and if that doesnt fill you, I dont know what to say. Its really OK to transition if youre used to such heavy foods! 100% overnight is not how many of the long term raw foodists did it.
