Wow - I can't believe it's been four months since I last posted.
Well, I'm back.
I love to treat September like the start of a new year. This summer ran pretty smooth for me, both with diet and activity, but I still find myself struggling to eat enough without having to track my food.
So I have decided to return to daily blog posts, religiously entering my food into Cronometer, and owning up to every single thing that enters my stomach.
Meant to post this last night, alas... I'm here now!
A month ago, I left my primary job. It was becoming a struggle to stay on top of my health, my sleep, and my sanity. I've been very fortunate that freelance work has kept a steady cashflow, and also that my mornings are much more relaxed.
Having time in the morning, I have found, has become one of the absolute essentials to my success on the path to being a long-term high carb vegan. Making the time to get a ton of water + fruit into my body first thing in the day sets me up for success.
Yesterday, September 1st, where we begin this chapter, I actually skipped my typical litre of lemon water, instead heading straight to the watermelon as I had to teach at 1130 am, and I wanted to make sure the majority of the liquid had a chance to work it's way through me. Doing a pee dance while taking people into savasana is so unpleasant!
Had lunch with my employer out on the grass, enjoyed 7 spotty bananas as she asked me about my food and the way I ate since I post a lot on Facebook and Instagram. Plus, the first time you see someone eat a whole bunch of bananas... it's hard not to ask - definitely a conversation starter.
It was about 3pm when I finished up, then made a beeline to the grocery store.
*Posting my grocery haul on YouTube tonight if you're curious :)
A pound of strawberries was a little pre-cardio snack, then after my 45 minute walk I enjoyed a whole packaged of millet + rice pasta topped with fresh made tomato sauce and a single pattypan squash cooked in the sauce.
I was pretty full at this point, in fact, my sister finished off the last few bites of pasta.
Thought I was done for the night, but I had the second of two vegan jerky things that I bought the other day. It was okay, but for $2.50 I probably won't bother again.
Then I had four Mary's Chocolate Chip Cookies, and a large handful of Mary's tomato chipotle pretzels.
Felt amazing this morning, better than I have in months. The late night snacking is going to take some time to let go of... but I think I have found some foods that satisfy the craving without completely destroying my ratio for the day.
According to Cronometer, I hit 2988 cals with a c/f/p ratio of 80/11/9
While we're at it: 133lbs, 5'3"
