30 Bananas a Day!

Hey guys just wanted to drop a few lines describing my most recent walking escapade. Yesterday I was off of work and shortly after waking out of the blue, I just wanted to test my endurance. I am still considerably overweight so walking is my primary form of exercise at the moment and very very light jogging. So, I decide to walk as far as possible and have my girlfriend come and pick me up when I give out. Not the best idea I have come up with so far. At mile 3 I was fine and started to slowly tire. At mile 6 I stopped at a convenient store to get more water and fruit, but there was no fruit, so I got a delmonte fruit can with mostly pure fruit but some preservative junk in it too...and a bottle of orange juice. I was super tired before that stop but felt like I had a second wind so I kept going after the short water/juice/fruit break. At mile 8 I stopped at another convenient store and got more water and 2 bananas. I failed to mention that my walking is extremely brisk and on the verge of jogging and that the sun was incredibly hot...around 98 degrees and it was high noonish. I was pouring sweat and very tired but wanted to continue to my 'ghost' destination of a landmark I had in mind which was approximately 15 miles from my house. At the 9th mile I was totally give out and my legs felt like they would not work any longer. My energy was gone and I had nothing left so I called my gf and had her pick me up...I had to go immediately to sleep and was super burnt from the sun (but it didn't hurt and still doesn't) Total miles walked was 10 miles in 4 hours and my weight at the moment is 273lbs.

Jay can't seem to make up his mind LOL. I hope that he does jump on the bandwagon though :)

I joined that gym I told you guys about :) I'm taking it easy with my hernia situation however, but still am feeling muscle burn ;)

I'd say waaaay too far and drink more water. Don't burn yourself out trying to do 10 mile workouts. Some overweight people train for distances like that (aka half marathons) all year long.

You spend years (probably decades) putting on that weight, be patient for a little while while it comes off.

You're way better off doing 2 miles every day and looking forward to it. This will make a healthy habit. You can use it for your daily stress relief, instead of taking on more stress that your overtaxed body is already undergoing like you are right now.

My overweight Dad (about your size) goes all-out for a couple weeks then takes two year rest breaks and gets even heavier.

I totally drank like 2 liters when I got home and went promptly to bed :)
