I just decided that I want to go back to school for nursing. I talked it over with my family and they thought it was a good idea. There's a high demand for male nurses, and I would like having a job where I'm on my feet, a mobile job, instead of a sedentary office job that I have now as an engineering technician for an electronic audio company.
I would like to stay in the US, even Puerto Rico, if need be, but staying in the US isn't a must.
I want to go somewhere tropical of course, somewhere where it's warm. The places I had in mind were Hawaii, Southern Florida, and Southern California.
If I went to school over there, I would have to find somewhere to stay. I could dorm, but dorming can be very expensive and really add up student loans. Plus, meal plans suck. I have dormed before and the food is french fries, chicken, ice cream, and just junk food. They have salad but it's not organic. It's pesticided garbage. The perfect scenario is if I could wwoof while going to school. Do you think it's possible? Most wwoofing jobs seem like you just have to work 4-5 hours a day and then you're free. If I could wwoof during the day for room and board and food and go to school for evening classes, that would be a perfect fit.
I'm doing a lot of research to see if I could find the perfect fit. I've already reigstered with wwoofing-usa. And I know there are lots of wwoofing opportunities in Hawaii. What do you think about this? anyone have experience on this?
