Just woke up from my "nights" rest and realized I need to blog! haha
Except for two vodka tonics, I've really well with sticking to fruit, corn pasta, dried fruit, juice, I even found a place that served vegan sweet potato tacos in downtown Tucson (They were phenomenal!).
The problem I have is that my sleep was already so jacked up that getting the right meals in at the right time is proving difficult. So, I'm not getting enough calories during a "typical" day, but I am during my normal days of being up all night and sleeping all day.
Eating an entire packet of corn pasta was alot easier than I though, But I was seriously in need of some carbs! and the full tummy went down alot faster than with the 4 steamed potatoes. I'm also experimenting with smoothies, and so far they're all delicious! Most are Freelee's recipes but just now I needed a small one so:
3 large bananas
5 medjool dates
small handful cacao nibs
small handful almonds
~.5liter coconut water
~TBS coconut sugar
I mean you just can't go wrong with bananas and coconut sugar! It's so good!!
I need to focus on getting in more veggies, and a full days' worth of meals. But I've been bringing dried fruit or quarts of juice if i go out in between meals, gotta be prepared because damn, going through the mall food court was tough. I am definitely having salty cravings and I don't even use salt! Really! But things with salt, popcorn, pizza etc were calling my name so I munched on some dried bananas
I'm doing light exercise as well, saturday was 1.3mi run, light yoga/stretching, 50 squats, 20+pushups, and some ab work. Call me crazy but I love the feeling of sore abs, it's a "feel-good" reminder, hard to describe, but yeah :)
School is starting tomorrow with finals. I told my dad about that challenge and he was in shock I would do a juice fast during finals haha I said no, no, no Dad, I'm just going vegan, crazy. Still hes one of those, eat a steak and feel good types, so that was his advice "you start feeling stressed go eat a hamburger" but he's not new to veganism since both my sister and I have embraced the lifestyles on several occasions.
Alright done with my rant, good luck to you all and go fruit yourself!
