today i ate: breakfast: 1 mango (yum!), and then 3 green smoothies, spaced through the day, each with 6 nanas and a large handful of greens from the garden. 2000 cals
energy still reasonable, i bounced on the trampoline this morning, felt good. i didn't sleep well last night, but despite that i've had an ok day energywise. bit of a dip in the afternoon. i showed some people round the land that we have here and talked about forest gardens and what we are trying to create here. i love this land! there are so many mature fruit trees, apples, pears, plums, walnuts, and many currant bushes, raspberries, and so many beautiful trees :-)). i am very blessed to be able to live here.
i feel balanced and happy with the food i am consuming. this week, i have been experimenting with eating mostly one thing per day (plus greens). so today and yesterday it was bananas, before that apples, and before that oranges. not exactly monoing as i'm having melon or mango for breakfast, and sometimes a salad in the evening, but this feels good. its going to make food ordering easier as well. i think i still have some anxiety about getting a 'balanced' diet, and for that i 'should' have a variety of foods. but this is not how i feel fruit would be consumed in nature. if i found a gorgeous mango tree full of ripe luscious mangoes i wouldn't leave until they were all eaten! i'd MAYBE tell my mates :-)))
and i loved my mono oranges day that i had, and think i'll plan for a few more of those.
i am having low level cravings for cooked (especially when i walk through our kitchen and smell yummy vegan food :-)), but not at the level at which i cannot control myself. i'm being good at walking away, but i'm not sure that i could sit and watch people eat yet without having my own food! baby steps. i haven't been off site for a while, that will be a definite test as i have a bad habit of bingeing while travelling on trains.
update (written for another forum, in their weight loss group)
tuesday june 16th
weight: 120.6 lbs
body fat index: 26.5%
last week: 120.4 lb body fat 27.8%
so... no weight lost, but the bit i'm excited about is the drop in body fat index :-)) this means (get my calculator out)...
actual fat weight last week = 33.5 lb
actual fat weight this week = 32.0 lb
so actual fat lost = 1.5 lb
and hopefully muscle gained (if water weight the same) = 1.5 lb!
as we're always told, muscle weighs more than fat, so i'm more interested in the body fat index going down than my actual weight going down anyway, and slowly building muscle, changing the shape of my body.
so... i'd recommend that if you're monitoring your weight to monitor the body fat index too :-)) Dr D recommends in 80-10-10 that women should have a bf% of under 20%, so that's what i'm aiming for. he also relates the story of a top model who came to him, and while being very skinny, her body fat was actually 29%! so her transition wasn't about losing weight, but gaining muscle and lowering her body fat.
this week i've kept my calories at an even 2000 a day. and i've stayed 100% 811rv, no overts all week. and it hasn't felt hard! this next week i'm going to be experimenting with mono days, and hopefully 3 days of mono oranges as i enjoyed my orange day so much this week, and also following from annes experience. and i'm going to continue bouncing on the trampoline and generally trying to move more. re calories i'm thinking of upping it by 100 cals a day, and trying to up my movement a little accordingly. i am aiming to be 'athletic', or at least have a fitness routine every day, and i need the calories in to fuel that. also i'm training my stomach to be able to take that quantity of fruit, and hopefully reduce down from four 'meals' presently to three, and then to two.
hope you've all had a good week, looking forward to all your posts! i like tuesdays, and like the discipline of not jumping on the scales every 2 mins :-)
