30 Bananas a Day!

For those that don't know I was raw vegan, cooked vegan of vegetarian most of my adult lie (now in my 40's) but the last yr because of a series of events, 2 celiacs diagnosed in my immediate family (son and hubby) we all went paleo. That was hard. I really started getting into it but...well...I'll skip the story but, I love my veggie roots. 

This is day 10 of 8-1-1, and increasing raw that started around 75% and am now about 95%. Workouts have been better. More endurance and more power to "kill it". 

My moods have been better. I am still cautious as I was raw for a long period of time before and felt great in the beginning, but after a year began to get very sick. Looking back I do believe it was to high fat and not enough calories...but still the "raw gone bad" memory is there to overcome.

Not sure if I will ever commit to 100% raw again. The 95% leaves room of an occasional slice of vegan pizza or some warm squash noodles on a cold winter day. Right now 90-95% leaves a lot of room to succeed and should I become 100% then great. We'll see. 

I could never imagine I would eat this much fruit. It started with a few fruits a day and I thought that was a lot. Now that doesn't even cover breakfast. LOL. The more fruit I eat, the more I just want fruity things and don't care about other things. Yesterday I even trutned down my favorite chocolate bar (snickers) for a piece of fruit - and not out of obligation, but I actually desired an orange and some dates more. They sounded better. Score.

We'll see where the journey leads. Trying to let my body lead. Thankfully now we are coming into spring so it is a great time to be "reborn"

After having been 811 for almost 2 years (I was high fat gourmet raw before too before I discovered 811), I don't need as much fruit as I did when I first started. I used to eat sooooo much and now, not nearly as much needed to fill me up.

I did 811 for a year and then I incorporated steamed dinners (I chose 2 veggies and then a few handfuls of greens--never more than 3 things in my "Serenity Bowl" which i always ate with chopsticks) and steamed them up. Added a little spice too. I did this actually last summer, when the weather was warm. My bowl of cooked food was so huge because it took so much cooked to make me full. But I still felt great eating like this. Then one day I decided to go back to 100% raw 811. I've been 100% raw ever since.  But we change so we have to go with the flow. This winter the fruit where I live has been so bad and at this point, I'm sick of bananas (NEVER thought I would say that) and I haven't wanted any greens....eating head of cauliflower a day along with broccoli, so....one never knows in which direction we'll go. But I can say one thing--I'll NEVER go back to high fat raw gourmet! Nor will I ever go back to eating oils, etc.

ten days!

concur with the "no thanks" to prior foods... food's been sitting in my cupboard (Vega bars/with chocolate, etc) thanks to the high carb fruits, etc. and the oil and salt which I wanted when I started has gone as well.  (5 months in for me)
