Okay so I'll start this off by giving a bit of a background. I am a Canadian and have been living in Australia for over a year. In this time I have become a high carb low fat vegan and I eat heaps of fruit, I try to be raw til 4 as much as possible and honestly have never felt better eating this way. So yea, I came home to visit my family for a few weeks the other day and they are all meat eaters. I have tried a few times being overseas to send my parents vidoes and studies showing why eating meat is harming them and the planet but they just dont seem to care. I am only home for a bit so i decided i should just bite my tongue and enjoy the time here eating what i want and letting them live how they want. Until last night, my dad decided to confront me and say he is worried for me and my health and thinks I am going to develop diabetes from all of the sugars I am eating everyday. It all happened so quick and i felt like i knew how to argue back but he is so brainwashed that there was no winning so i just gave up. Can anyone give me a little more information on why animal products are the thing giving us type 2 diabetes and cancer and a fruit diet actually reverses these things. I feel like I have a pretty good understanding now because i spent all last night after researching but i want to calmly explain to my father out of love why he is wrong about this and hopefully shine some more light on the topic.
