30 Bananas a Day!

I was finally off of coffee, for about 3 to 4 weeks, but I had no energy my body was in pain the 1st few days. I could not work out. I started drinking coffee again the other day, I was able to work out today. How do I end this cycle? I do want to stop, but I was drained without it.

Ok, It's been 4 days now and no coffee, but I'm drinking brewed ice tea. I still need to make the switch to herbal. I'm doing pretty good. Thanks for all the help.

ok, all you gave me hope! No cofee today, so far so good, got a big glass of tea here with some Stevia. I have to go buy some herbal tea. I love everyone here, you guys care so much!

Hey Isabella,

I think I abused coffee worse than anyone and when I tried to quit cold turkey I felt like I needed to be in a rehab center, I couldn't function at all.

The only way to do it is to ween yourself off. You can mix decaf or and herbal coffee with your regular coffee, gradually adding more decaf to the ratio over the course of weeks. This worked really well for me but I actually still drink a cup of green tea every morning. I could probably do without it but a lot of it is mental for me I think. The addiction to caffeine is a strong one, I think perhaps worse than SAD food. Good Luck! I agree with switching to tea. It still has some caffeine so you won't get headaches. It worked for me. Just draink green tea for a week, then switched to herbal, then lemon water. No need to put yourself through hell with the migraine.

You might want to wean yourself to tea, then herbal tea for a hot liquid sub and more gentler withdrawal. Some people do cold turkey, others wean.

I hear ya sista, I'm in the same boat. I get migraines and constipation without coffee. I've been 100% lfrv w/ the exception of coffee and meds for 1 1/2 mths. now (about 75% for 4 mths. before that). I can't get time off of work tho to deal with it, and the pain is far too severe to work through it. So, I'm weaning off it. I'm steadily reducing the amount I consume everyday and taking Zomig and magnesium for the migraines, eventually I'll stop taking those too.

How do you wean off of a highly enervating substance? Only 1 cup of jolt, and then the fall happens, and you are left with the after effect of the reduction of the substance.
I think quitting cold turkey is the best, and once and for all you'll be done, if you stick to your regime.
