30 Bananas a Day!

50km race - 1st place on a banana

I really honestly don't like to brag, and I mean it when I say I am posting this for the purposes of disproving the naysayers about my fruitarian diet...but when you win a marathon, ultra marathon or middle distance race just about every weekend for months on end, people got to know about it ... especially when I eat nothing but fruit!
I ran the boston marathon on monday in 2:28, then ran 13 miles on tuesday, then 16 on wed, then 25 on mt. trails on thur, then friday took it easy only ran 3 miles, then sat. ran this 30 year old historic race 50km in 3 hours 30min and won...
I'm not saying what I'm doing next weekend, but if my fruitarian diet continues to hold up then I'm expecting some good results... so until then, it's back to 140mile weeks ... eat up folks!
I finally figured out how to use my gps watch...:

Wow, so inspiring! We may have seen each other at the Boston Marathon-I was on the sidelines in the "scream tunnel" around the halfway mark. I wondered if there were any 811ers running it! Maybe next year I'll be running it too!

Yes Ted, I always run at least 3 miles a day. I started this after Doug Graham gave me some advice that I really took to heart. He said to me once, "Michael, Exercise each day as if your life depends on it" I take that in a literal sense to the core - and I never let this stay out of focus. I've never felt worse after exercise, it's an absolute necessity for inner peace, physical health and happiness. Never have I found a good enough excuse 'not' to exercise, even if it's just for a 20min run. (note IF god forbid I can't run, I will walk 3 miles).

do you always run on your "rest" days?

Congratulations Michael. Always like hearing about your achievements. Quiets the naysayers and gives inspiration to the rest.
