Watermelon :)

I just had a big watermelon lunch and it is affecting me like drugs, I’m experiencing such a rush o f energy right now!  I just spent 10 minutes doing bicycle crunches, arm circles, and front jabs.  Go fruit yourself!

I know what I described is not a lot of exercise, but I'm healing both a broken wrist and a broken foot right now so it takes a lot more energy to do a small amount of activity.  I still feel amazing!

Something I just wrote about dietary thermogenesis.

I have a blog where I write about the 801010 lifestyle, and I get a lot of questions.  This  morning, someone asked me to explain the ins and outs of dietary thermogenesis.  I'm not a doctor or an expert(YET), but I think I did a pretty good job so here's what I wrote, feedback would be appreciated :)

Classes start in 9 days and I'm having second thoughts. Any advice/experience would be much appreciated!

So my school just sent me a list of course material that I’ll need, books and the like.

And I’m having second thoughts.  

The first book I looked up advises cutting out all processed foods, but eating yogurt once a day.  Not only is yogurt processed, but it will wreck your health.  Dairy will absolutely wreck any healthy efforts, whether the negative affects pop up right away or later in life.

I have one grievance.

And that is how quickly so many of the forum discussions here turn catty!  I've seen a person get ganged up on one too many times in discussions here- by adults!  By full grown adults.  It's very disheartening and I feel like it really goes against the whole philosophy of this site, which is raw, fruity, peaceful living!

Just once I would like to get through a discussion feeling supported and educated, not fearful that if someone disagrees with my input, I'm next.

ew ew ew.

So yesterday was Worldwide Vegan Pizza Day.  I decided to take the night off from HCRV so that I could share vegan pizza with my three good friends who I feel are SO CLOSE to making the switch from SAD to vegan.  They've expressed dismay at the thought of giving up cheese, so I thought this would be a great opportunity.  And it was, we made some fancy pizzas that tasted delicious and my younger brother decided to go vegan again(had fallen off the wagon after a two month go) right there on…

First food emergency as an HCRV.

So yesterday I did not have nearly as much food as I thought I did.  I only had enough orange juice to cover breakfast and greens for later on.  I had no options.  None of my bananas are near ripe nor could I access ripe ones, or ripe anything for that matter that was also organic- I'm extremely sensitive to pesticides and always have been so I don't even try with non-organic, sooo not worth the burning in my mouth and stomach pain, etc.

All these "omg calories" "omg weight gain" "omg hypothetical situations" discussions are HORRIBLE. just horrible.

I went HCRV because I truly believed that it would heal my body from the damage I did to it, and the damage that the early years of eating SAD and not being all too active did.  I believe that HCRV is not only the healthiest way for people to live, but that it is the kindest to the planet.  I understand the fear of gaining weight, but this is supposed to be a forum that promotes HEALTH of body, mind, and spirit- not pleasing aesthetics.  I take it personally when people say…

Raw Beauty: AWESOME Homemade Face/Body Scrub.

I blame toxic cosmetics/soaps/creams/etc for my skin still being significantly less than flawless.  Therefore, among a couple other changes, I have decided to make my own face wash from now on.  I mixed rolled oats, raw turbinado sugar, and mashed blueberries with a little water and used it as a facial exfoliate in the shower just now and WHAT.  THE @&%#.  As I was using it I could already feel the difference.  My skin has never been softer or smoother in my life.  Another bonus is not…

Re-Grow Your Own Celery!!
