After much searching and many phone calls and emails, I finally found a wholesaler here in Germany who sells to retail customers. I didn't manage to find anyone local like I had hoped, but I did find one that delivers nation-wide. They aren't organic, but I can't afford that anyway. I have €300 - €350 to spend on food a month and buying from the likes of Orkos and Tropenkost, there was no way to live on that amount of money and get enough calories. Supermarkets weren't really an option…Continue
I caught myself myself having what I first thought was the most insane thought ever. Now I'm not so sure anymore.
It happened as I was researching advice on how to best mention a health condition/disability affecting job performance in am application. I was browsing a book chapter on the subject that included examples around issues such as hearing impairment or need for a wheelchair. As a read these I thought "At least those things aren't their (meaning the applicant's)…Continue

Okay, so I'm still on anti-depressants and loads of other psych meds, but I'm feeling better than I have in a long time. Upping my calories to 3000+ with plans to work my way up higher still (according to the 10g carbs per 1kg bodyweight formula, I'd need over 4500 calories a day) and stepping up my releasing/Sedona Method game seems to be doing wonders for me, especially where mood and energy are concerned. Even though I'm struggling today with my NaNoWriMo novel and uni work, I still feel…Continue
After falling off the fruity wagon last week (most likely due to not eating enough calories in the time before my period), I'm back to my fruit munching ways since this weekend. Money is still tight, especially since I just spent €300 to stock up on dates, 30kg all in all, plus 3kg of dried apricots and some nuts and seeds. All that was delivered earlier today and I spent the better part of my morning puttering around the basement in order to find storage space for all the goodies.

Yesterday the parcel from the pharmacy arrived and I did my first B12 shot. Not sure I managed to get the right syringes as they have very short needles which make it difficult to fill them properly, but other than that everything went well. Maybe it is my imagination, but I feel like I have more energy already!
Starting with breakfast tomorrow, I plan to start logging my food intake in cronometer again. I thought I had eating enough carbs down, but with fruit availability…Continue

With the final exam of 'Molecules in Medicine' behind me, I decided to take a break (I'm calling it a break, but it might just be for good) from my ADD meds (amphetamines). The first day, Saturday, I could barely get out of bed, I was so exhausted. Sunday was pretty bad too, but much to my surprise, I felt a lot better yesterday and today is a off to a good start as well. I'm still low on energy and motivation/enthusiasm in general. My concentration is shot, too. Still, I managed to get some…Continue
It was partly because of lack of money (end of the month!), partly bad planning and partly bad luck (only green bananas everywhere). Managed to stay lfrv, but not exactly hcrv and promptly felt much worse as a result with next to no energy.
Today was payday, so I could finally order another case of dates. Actually, I ordered two cases, one 3kg case of very cheap, but also not very good non-organic dates because they tend to ship within 24 hours and a second 5kg case of…Continue
Having contacted a bunch of wholesalers in the last two weeks, I have come to the conclusion that it is near impossible to buy from fruit wholesalers as an individual here in Germany. Only two didn't turn me down outright, but one of them only does regionally grown fruit, which rules out my main staples. The other one would theoretically sell to me, but the minimum order amount for deliveries is double of what I can afford to spend on food in a month. Unfortunately, picking up smaller orders…Continue
