Transitioning while pregnant, first trimester

I am finally out of the first trimester of pregnancy and although I fell off the wagon significantly for a few weeks there, I still managed to make most of my meals all fruit. Too Much Water and Salt Cravings?

I think sometimes I have a tendency to be extreme with certain pieces of good advice, like "making sure to drink enough water". I have been drinking a minimum of 64 ounces a day for the past couple of months and recently  attempted to double that, thinking more is better. Pregnancy related cravings!

I couldn't understand why for the past week I was craving rice and pasta like crazy! I was getting a minimum of 2600 calories a day, and still desperately wanting anything starchy with tomatoe sauce.  I found out I am 4 weeks pregnant yesterday and am beginning to suspect that is why the cravings were so strong, maybe I need to take in a lot more calories to prepare my body for pregnancy?  The cool thing is that I will get to see how eating a fruit based diet makes me feel compared to how I…

I finally read THE book!

I finally checked my mailbox yesterday and there was The 80/10/10 Diet waiting for me. I was so excited I immediately started reading it and have completed all the chapters and am working through the appendixes. Whenever I read a book for informational purposes I like to read it from cover to cover first and then go back and re-read the most compelling parts multiple times.

20 bad?

Yesterday was a good day for me. I was active and I didn't want any cooked foods. However I didn't force myself to eat 3000+ calories either... Part of the reason is because I ran out of food, I ate my last 3 mangos yesterday and haven't bought anymore because I am going to lay off the mangos this week and see if the swollen glands persist. Another Cooked Meal:/

So the night before last, we went out to dinner.  My meat-loving husband surprised me by wanting to go to this vegan restaurant called "The Loving Hut", that I introduced him to a while back. Secretly transitioning spouse to LFRV, slowly but surely

Its been about 4 months since I resolved to not consume animal products, and about 3 weeks since working towards LFRV. I ordered the 80 10 10 book yesterday. I am writing this blog post for myself and anyone who has decided to eat LFRV and has a spouse that isn't planning to do the same.

Counting Calories

I am pretty satisfied with myself right now for having made some confirmations that are serving me well. The first one being that I have to stop putting up parameters and being obsessive about them. I feel part of this behavior is stemming from boredom, which I am ashamed to admit because I always say, "only boring people get bored", and what does that say about me! Weight Gain

So I just decided to journal what my thoughts are as I am going throught this process of adjusting my diet and lifestyle, simply to keep track of changes and realizations that take place along the way. So far I am a little more than 2 weeks in and one thing I decided over the past 2 days was that regardless of weight gain, I am going to continue eating without restricting my calories.
