I've always been able to get a good amount of sleep, but not at the ideal times... I usually go to bed late, anywhere from midnight to 2 or 3am. I sleep usually for ten hours, sometimes as long as twelve hours. Despite the amount of sleep I get, I still wake up feeling groggy, and it's difficult for me to get up. I constantly yawn throughout the day, too. That's why I've begun to suspect that I get low quality sleep that negates how long I sleep for.
One thing I've noticed doing Raw…Continue
Been on YouTube about 2 weeks now and have nearly 400 subscribers so feeling pretty happy. Been working away at it uploading each day. Think I did 3 videos yesterday.
Started seeing the benefits of doing videos. Managed to reach other diabetics with the high carb plant based message who might never have seen it. Everyone I've spoke to so far in the comments has been pretty good. Most people seem to understand that their diabetes or bad blood sugars are caused by…Continue

Recovery from Anorexia was No.Joke.
In fact, it was the hardest thing I have done in my life to this point.
That being said, it was also the best thing I ever did, and the journey I am most thankful for.
The reason I wanted to make this video was to share that recovery from an eating disorder, or from any other addiction takes time. It takes space. It takes a lot of love…Continue

I first became aware of this lifestyle of January this year. I can't believe I've known about this for a year already! And yet I still haven't committed to it totally. Until yesterday.
To quickly summarize my background for those who don't know: I've been vegan for 4 years, but it hasn't been the healthiest vegan diet as I did it for ethical reasons and didn't pay much attention to my health. When I finally started to get into healthy eating about two years ago, I first went with…Continue
I've always been the type of person who see both sides of the story. I've been on the fence, observing and learning from behind. I've been that person who participate by indulging in other people's arguments and support for each other. And sometimes it makes me a flakey person because I see pros and cons to each side. But I saw some videos on how some vegans shame other people for wearing fur, and suddenly I feel this "this make sense" epiphany. Why would anyone keep quiet when billions of…Continue

It's finals week and we are crunkin it up!
I met with my lecturer and a few other students to hopefully push our grades up and talk about what we can do etc. We got into the topic of me offering them dried mangoes. They know that I eat loads of fruit and they asked me about what I eat in a day. I say that I eat 20 bananas a day and make it into a smoothie.
My lecturer holds up her face and tells me that it's unhealthy. That it will spike up my blood sugar and…Continue

I was inspired to try this recipe after having looked in my fridge for something to eat this evening.
Instead of eating some hummus, which usually gives me gas, I decided that I would stick to something raw this evening so I plucked the two small zucchinis we had in the fridge up…Continue

Guess what. Your body hang ups have nothing to do with your body.
The fact that your thighs are not the size you think they should be, the fact that your belly jiggles, the fact that you are bloated or puffy, the fact that your hair is too thin, your eyes too small, your shoulders too wide - really does not mean anything.
Your self esteem does not have to…Continue

Hello fruit bats. So I keep bouncing around on the high carb low fat lifestyle because of what people tell me... my trainer at the gym is pushing protein and fat, so is my hormone doctor (I am on a progesterone regimen), and so is my vegan sister who eats coconut butter straight out of the jar. I have read the epidemiological studies done on populations that are high carb low fat and they are compelling. At the same time I wonder how much is individual - i.e., that some people just do…Continue
Are you sick and tired of your inner critic?
Are you fed up with beating yourself up all day, with thinking negative thoughts about you, with feeling like you are inadequate, incapable and plain not good enough?
Have you tried countering your inner critic with positive, productive thoughts - only to wind up feeling like your inner critic gets louder and meaner?

Decided to post some updates as of today, December 5, 2015:
I had a dental check-up/cleaning yesterday. I missed my 6 month app, so it has been a year since going to the dentist. I did notice the hygienist having to scrape my teeth a bit more than last time. However, she said it really looked pretty good compared to most people. The best dental check-up I ever had was when I was 100% raw, though. But, she did say that my mouth looked really good. I was having some tooth…Continue
