So being new to this lifestyle and partnered with a loving better who is not completely on board with my being vegetarian much less vegan or raw vegan, I joined this site to post lost of questions and benefit from the wisdom of others - now maybe I miss timed it, but it seems I'm either not asking sexy questions (that people want to answer) or that's not how this site works. But hey we are all busy! :) So maybe I'll just blog my own journey as an archive and hope I find the answers I need…Continue

Ok I've not been on this lifestyle for long. However I went to the Doctor today about some bloodwork (I'm recovering from bullemia but with this lifestyle I haven't thrown up once! WOOHOO!!) Anyway back to seriousness he says my potassium is above the normal. I'm a little confused now. I eat no where near the amount of bananas that Harley and Freelee do and I'm now told to cut back. Is this normal for beginners on this diet or not. Will my potassium levels go back to normal after a while…Continue
1. WEIGHT LOSS! = Weight goes DOWN!! I can't keep my weight down on Raw til 4 or Raw til dinner, or cooked food in general.
2. HEALED = of so many things! Asthma GONE, arthritis GONE, constipation GONE, allergies GONE, digestive issues GONE, teeth sensitivities GONE, dry skin and dry eyes GONE! and more on the way!
3. ALKALINE BODY = No more mosquito bites. The theory is I'm more alkaline now, and mosquitos…Continue
I've been on and off the wagon a lot because I was afraid of what my family would say. Well something happened to me over Christmas when I ate cheese to not cause a scene with my family... It wasn't worth it and it made me feel terrible. Ever since the 26th I've eaten high carb vegan and am LOVING IT! So much more energy and my digestion is running so smoothly, and it's only been 5 days! So instead of a new years resolution I claim a life resolution. I'm high carb vegan for life! And if…Continue
I've got exactly one year left of college.
After I graduate, I want to live with other fruit focused vegans. Anything less will not serve.
Creating a strong community will be a process no doubt, but to start one should not be difficult. We only need to agree on a location. I am from the Bay Area and I like the Bay Area, so I'm going to suggest something in the Bay Area. I am also open to other ideas.
All we need to do is rent a house together…Continue
I've heard through the grape vine that some fruit based vegan communities already exist. Does anyone have any information of them they could share? I want to live in one!

My dad pulled me aside today and wanted to talk to me about my diet. He said he is concerned about me getting the right amount of food groups in and that going vegan will cut out those certain foods. I love my father with all my heart, but let's just say my father is overweight and unhealthy, and he eats these "nutritional foods that I'm missing out on".
I told him that I'm finally happy with what I put in my body. This lifestyle gives me so much more energy. I actually enjoy eating…Continue
The new year is quickly approaching. So much is ahead! I plan on renting a new place, two bedroom for myself and Jordan. I am looking at a place today actually.
I am also gradually transitioning into a 100% 811 diet, and hoping to transition into a HCRV diet in the coming months as well. I have a new semester starting up in mid January, and it's going to be my last semester for my degree in business. I am very exciting to finally finish school!
My weight has either been going up or staying the same for quite a while!
Until now! Today is my third day all raw, and my weight has dropped 4 pounds already! Woo!
Here's the video of what I ate this exciting day!Continue
So, I caved. I ate cooked kale.
I definitely didn't prepare fully for this transition.
I didn't have ripe enough bananas.
I'm also toying with the idea that I should have eaten raw before plunging myself onto banana island.
However, I'm not giving up and I can feel the difference between eating cooked food and eating raw food. I definitely feel tired, angry, break out, and bloated when I eat cooked food.
Now the question is how do I get raw food at a…Continue
I've been reminded how food can be medicine, more than the most expensive pharmaceutical drug. I've been reminded how you can be your smartest doctor, no matter how many years and how much money spent going through school. Sunday night there was a 2cm ovarian cyst that ruptured. With it came all the symptoms of pelvic pain, heaviness, abdominal bloating, bleeding to the point…Continue
I've read in this forum that pineapples don't ripen after they have been picked, but this video is making me question that. I stopped buying pineapple - maybe I can start buying it again
Also, I started to talk to a woman from South American in the grocery line yesterday and she told me that the trick is to wash your pineapple in salted water after you peel it in order to remove the slime which causes…
Pretty much what the title says. I think people here trash talk way too openly about people in the community which includes people I know personally or that are friends of friends. If you disagree with anything anyone says about health I'm all for debate and discussion. If you think someone is crooked and want to warn people because you truly know they're crooked that's all good in my book too. But don't just call them idiots and attack them ad hominem left and right.
Heyo to my fellow high carbers!! Well, this lifestyle is changing my life. I LOVE IT! However, I am having MAJOR issues with my family. Now, these past few weeks have been tough because my grandfather has been hospitalized because of a head injury and everyone's on edge. However, I am SO sick of feeling like I have to hide my food because I have a feeling people will tell me that. "That's too much. I'm worried about your protein. YOU NEED PROTEIN. Are you going to be ok with that." UGH!…Continue
Okay, so while I am not a newbie to the vegan lifestyle, I am new to 30 Bananas a Day :). My name is Katelynn, and I'm so happy to be here. In the town that I currently reside, I haven't met any other individual that is vegan, or one that has the same passion for health and nutrition through plant based foods. It would be AMAZING to be able to speak with other people with the same interests and passion!
I have been vegan for about 4 years now, and was vegetarian for the same…Continue
Happy Holidays to everyone!
I just needed to post this blog to get my feeling out to people who are like minded and can understand.
My husband, Charlie, and I have been married for over 2 years but together much longer. He is from England, a little town named Corby and his ENTIRE family are Scotts, and they seriously love their meat. I mean LOVE MEAT. Now with that being said, over the years Charlie has adapted to eating meat maaaaaybe 3-5 times a month... I do not like buying…Continue
Hey Y'all! I am heading to New Zealand for 23 days in February. Is there anyone out there in Auckland area that can direct me to fruit and veges? Thanks!
Ok, doing a blog posting challenge in the middle of 2 shows (I'm a theatre major), finals (was ripping out my hair), a TON of family problems (my great grandmother passed away, and now my grandfather is in the hospital with a head injury), fighting to keep my theatre alive (my university decided to shut us down, nobody appreciates the arts), and trying to search for new colleges in case I have to transfer. Yeah a lot of crap has hit the fan. However, my love and want for staying vegan has…Continue
Last night was one of those nights where I pushed myself to have a good time. I went out with my new friend Michelle who I have just met recently. She's new to town also and we have been getting to know each other the past month. We hit the town in search of pumpkin butter and books. It was a grand adventure we had set out for ourselves. However, I wasn't feeling it. I was feeling like complete shit and I was feeling like a real asshole. Everything was caving in on me. I was going through…Continue
