Am I just shooting my leg?

AS I learned a lot about this lifestyle and what comes with it, I realized it's no easy park. It's no easy dealing with (what you think) bulls*** and other things that your mind wonders. I recently came across a lot of posts coming from people who are unhappy with this diet and lifestyle, (hair loss, weight gain, almost died etc) and saying that Harley and Freelee are wrong about this lifestyle and are spreading lies to people.

I do this because I like to see the two sides.

I…

Life After Mid-Life: Lessons

I am the child of a refugee. I am the child of god-fearing parents who never robbed or cheated anyone. I am the child of a brilliant and ambitious father and a loving mother.

I am an immigrant whose family suffered a lifetime of abuse and discrimination. My parents came to the United States, to escape the chaos of the country in which they were born, the old fashioned way--they worked hard, they possessed education and skills needed in America. They tried to be honorable…

The Truth About Setting An Intention

Today I want to tell you the truth about intention setting.

True intention setting has the power to change your life dramatically. Intention is a secret weapon for positive life change - but only if you know how to use it.

To clear a few things up right off the bat:

Saying "I intend to lose 5 pounds this week" is not an intention.…

Protest Thanksgiving (quotes)

"Imagine that Germany won World War II and that a Nazi regime endured for some decades, eventually giving way to a more liberal state with a softer version of German-supremacist ideology. Imagine that a century later, Germans celebrated a holiday offering a whitewashed version of German/Jewish history that ignored that holocaust and the deep antisemitism of the culture. Imagine that the holiday provided a welcomed time…

When people are unconscious

Lately, I've been feeling rather down, and it's not because that I'm not eating enough, but because I realized that reality is f***ing scary and out there. I've been living unconsciously, rarely thinking about what's going on the world because to me, I've always thought that we can't really change the world. No matter what we do or try to do, I feel that the masses is not going to listen, and continue to live their unhealthy lifestyle and destroy this world without ever thinking about it. Or…

Arguments with meat-eating friend

So,

I think all of us would get this in some point in our journeys when becoming vegan. I bet most of us on here who have meat eating friends would ask questions and tear us down because they don't understand the nature of being vegan, the ethical and health benefits that veganism provides. I consider this person one of my best friends, but he asked me questions about being vegan and we got into a debate to how I said that being vegan is the best thing that has happened to me, while…

Why Self Care Is SO Hard When You Are Doing Well

Do you ever wonder why it is so hard to keep up your self care practices when life is going good?

Why you tend to be able to focus on treating yourself with love and care when you are down and struggling, but then as soon as life takes an upswing, self care is the last thing on your mind?

Then, when you hit bottom again, trying to re-establish your loving habits is harder than ever - and perhaps it even feels better in the moment to stay in the self loathing/self pity… Continue

The ways of spreading vegan message

It's very important to realize how we are creating new norms and behavior. What popular people do will get many haters and lovers. But being a lover, is it actually any better than being a hater? It depends on what you are accepting as a truth and the so called RIGHT WAY OF DOING THINGS. Spark on these thought came from this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_8FLG6OhQA video. So it will clarify my thoughts.

No meat athelete

Lately I've been smashing distances on my bike and it's been wonderful. I've never thought I would ever do that without eating meat or eating the standard diet that people eat. I've even recovered really fast and I've gotten less and less sore, even when I was cycling for up to 4 hours. I'm on Strava, and I want to connect to people, maybe go on adventures and cycle everywhere and then camp somewhere while we talk about our deepest and darkest secrets and insecurities while we look at the…

Newly Vegan

Hello Ze Vegan Communityyyyyyy!

I just turned vegan around two months ago after watching a lot of videos and I'm proof that you guys are reaching and changing lives one person at a time. Or a hundred. Or a thousand. I'm 23, and I've been a meat eater all my life (I hated vegetables and only liked certain fruits) but I've found being a vegan the best way possible after research and watching documentaries and watching vegan Youtubers.

When I first started I was…

How to ripen fuyu persimmons (VIDEO)

I forget to mention in the video that, with other persimmon varieties including the Fuyu, you can freeze them overnight in your refrigerator (to imitate a hard frost), and this will ripen the persimmons. Then thaw the next day to eat.…

Finally, The Real Truth About Positive Thinking

If you have not been living under a rock, you are most likely aware of the practice of 'positive thinking'

This idea that if you just try hard enough to replace your old, negative thoughts with new, positive ones you will start to manifest better life experiences.

On the flip side, you may be worried that your negative thoughts are leading to negative experiences in your life, but no matter how hard you…

How I Became A Self Love Advocate

I was not always good at taking care of myself.

In fact, I used to be pretty well my own worst enemy. I never let myself rest, I never let myself enjoy things, everything in my life was a struggle because I was continually burning myself out and never filling myself back up.

Now a days, I take really good care of me, but like I said, I have come a long way from my humble roots of being my own evil…
