Quick post just to say
Today was nice and I feel strong.
-I walked
-I ate only fruit, greens and some baked yams
-I was peaceful and relaxed
-cleaned my room/bathroom
-started drawing a portrait
-listened to The Power Of Now
Hopefully tomorrow I will even go without the yams, and do 100% raw!

According to self-help lore, it takes 21 days to form a new habit. So, I'm really trying to get 100%lfrv under my belt. The last few days have been tough. Thanksgiving was easy because I planned something special, but the days after, somehow, were tough. I actually flipped a coin as to whether I would cheat or not... Trouble is, I would feel disgusting and also it would take me longer than I like to get back on track.
I think I've been frustrated by my weight not having budged, which is a…

i was wondering particularly about honey. i have been experimenting with it seeing how i feel because i have really amazing hawaiian honey i helped harvest sustainably without hurting the bees and stuff. i feel we can really benefit from beekeeping, pollinating all of our crops and maybe…

Wow. What a 24 hour period.
This Monday would of been 6 months sober, but last night, I relapsed. It hit me, that my romantic relationship is actually over for good. I was terribly upset yesterday and thought "I just can't live with this." When I thought about "my life", which really means, "my life situation" it seemed so empty without him. Plus, I had already been choosing to find the negatives in my situation lately anyway... resentful the Winter weather, living with the…

So today is Day 4 for me- I have to say today was much harder- eating the same foods is kind of getting old..I haven't made it to the store to pick up more avocados, romaine, grapes, etc. yet- right now I've been eating mostly organic apples, bananas, navel oranges, organic spinach, some tomatoes and pineapple. What are some other less boring options- any advice so that I don't get bored? I've also noticed that I get tired of sweet foods, I want something that isn't so sickingly sweet- and I've…

OK, I've been playing again and had a crack at my very first video post. I was having one of those quiet moments of reflection and talking to myself as I usually do. Decided to capture it and share it. Hope it makes sense and tickles a few neurons and gets the old tongues wagging and digits…

Eating LFRV has been going really well- the longer time goes by the easier that it gets :) The only problem that I have is that I can't eat that much fruit at one sitting- I just can't, I will get physically sick- so I'm trying to do what my body is telling me to do. I haven't really had too many cravings for cooked foods- Thanksgiving was a little tough b/c everyone was curious about why I was only eating a spinach salad but other than that, I didn't want any of the cooked food. I plan on…

I am lucky that with my family being on the other side of the ocean and my husband's family being Korean, Thanksgiving is not the big eating fest that it is for other people. Takes the pressure off a bit.
They had beef and crab and various cooked dishes and I made myself nori rolls with avocado (a treat for me), cucumber, carrot and red pepper with tiny bits of ginger. I really liked how this came out, except, I should have wet the nori a bit less. It was quite a treat, nonetheless.…

I had a great thanksgiving today, there truly is so much to be thankful for. This morning I got up and ran a 5k race put on by the Sonoma County chapter of Organic Athlete. I had a good run and I got to see all my Organic Athlete friends. I'm still new to running and I usually do the 10k so I didn't totally pace myself right, but I ended up finishing at 21:36, which is a good time for me. Afterward, I decided just for the hell of it to go out to the coast for a post race run. I've been wanting…

I was planning on eating plain potatoes, green beans and rice during the Thanksgiving meal. But when I was in the kitchen, seeing the food just really turned me off. I didn't want plain, dry potatoes and I definitely didn't want to watch them eat turkey :( So, I just grabbed one of the smoothies I made before hand (made 3,000 calories worth upon waking) and went upstairs. They seemed bothered by this, especially since they assumed I was going to eat with them. But, they also understood. I don't…

I'm thankful for sweet, gentle hearts. <3
and the show Glee :P
But mostly, sweet, gentle hearts and warm, genuine, interactions.
Today at the library, an older gentleman asked me for help on the computer. I said "sure," not knowing what he wanted help with. Then he said (in his accent) that he wanted to message some women and he pointed to the yahoo personals matches list. I was a little confused, but assumed that he wasn't computer literate. So, I sat…

Hi all! 4 weeks lfrv for me! Woohoo! (recap: started in May 2007, did 811 raw for 6 months, then ate cooked food sometimes - bad idea!) but started again Wed, Oct 28, 2009).
I'm eating 2,000+ lfrv 811 calories a day and lost a few lbs already. Love it! So, eating more fruit is really the key. Yes, Freelee, you are so right! LOL
My goal is 6 months, 1 year, forever, but we'll take it a month at a time!

I had heard some blogger Steve Pavlina had chronicled his experiences trying out a raw food diet, but not until yesterday did I read it. I think it's a great resource actually for anyone starting 811, because he lays out why he was going to try it and then goes through with a very thorough description, day by day of what he is eating, the caloric breakdown, how he's feeling, etc. Especially the pictures of all the meals, it seems to me, might be really helpful for someone to understand how much…

Well I ate my thirty bananas, unfortunately a little too late as I drunk a soy mocha. 15 bananas while at work....got home, was concerned about what I would do all alone with nothing fun to do until the wife got home, so what do I do???? go to the coffee shop and play computer game LOL. I laugh at my silliness. and now I am finishing up my 15th bananas for total of thirty. I got probably now almost a half a case of ripe bananas in my fridge, I hope my wife remembers to buy another case of…

So, I think ... doh ... I was not eating enough fruit and I was not feeling good. Why are we all so skeptical about this always? Last night, a few hours after my last persimmon meal, I DEVOURED more grapes and watermelon and some tomato (with a bit of SALT... ack! I'm not going to be crazy about that at this point...) So today, one more day with lots of ripe persimmons and then I think I'm done for now. But today I'll eat a few more. Surprise, surprise, this morning my weight was way down, even…

Today is my first day of eating just fruits, I've been Raw Vegan before, so this shouldn't be too hard- it's all mind over matter. I weighed at my brothers house on Sunday and my weight was up to 144- everyone thinks I weigh about 130-I'm too embarassed to tell people how much I really weigh now. I didn't have weight issues until 2009 and now I gain weight if I just look at food. I'm hoping that eating this way will help me to lose the weight and be happy- I've been so miserable lately because…

i have begun to add weight training into my fitness routine and i am loving it!!
i've been reading a lot about weight training for women and how the problem with a lot of weight maintenance programs is that people (especially womyn) are afraid of weight training. in the book
strong women stay slim, the author (a medical doctor), outlines the importance of weight training in order to keep the body in top shape. some reasons are:
- muscles are metabolically active,…
