Ok so here I am doing super duper fabulous on my RT4!!
Big banana/date smoothies in the morning (8 bananas, 6 dates, vanilla drops and 1400ml of water). Fruit or smoothie for lunch.. sometimes some dried plums for a quick snack and then dinner is usually white rice with veggies. I ALWAYS sprinkle salt and pepper on my dinner... always!! and then as I was reading the RT4 FAQ's page to gain more knowledge on the lifestyle, I came across the ingredient list and found out that salt is a…Continue
Just got back from an 11 day trip to Portland, Oregon. Home in Philadelphia, PA as of last night. I ate mostly pasta and potatoes with very small fruit breakfasts(all apples and bananas) with some pasteurized orange juice and romaine lettuce thrown in while I was away with some vegan junk thrown in (have you heard of the vegan food cart Homegrown Smoker? worth it…). But man, I am feeling it.
I'm enjoying my first banana smoothie in over a week and nothing has ever tasted so good…Continue
I can now say goodbye to the cholecystitis I was dealing with!! Hooray!!! Happy Dance!!!!! I went to my amazing Doc yesterday and she did her kinesiology work on me and I passed the bacteria test and inflammation test. Last week I said the pain was at a six, yesterday I said it was at a three... I haven't had a fever in five days or so nor have I been dealing with any major pain!! As of now the gallbladder is not an issue but I will remain on the fat free ~ low fat diet and…Continue
I've been losing weight over the last year, but my diet has never really been sustainable. I would eat maybe an apple and orange for breakfast, a banana as a snack, then a tuna salad for lunch, followed by maybe soup, egg whites, mushrooms, peppers, and copious amounts of sweetened coffee. I mean around 4 cups a day each with 2 sweeteners each. Although I was eating a decent amount of fruit and vegetables, I was focusing on things like bell peppers and celery, and I often didn't have enough…Continue
I've done every diet.
Okay, that's an overstatement. But I've done quite a few. South Beach when I was younger (which was basically an eating disorder) and several other strange fads for bursts of a week or so. A year and a half ago I started exercising religiously (I love it), and that cut the idea of dieting out of my system. I was getting slim and loving life. So weight loss was not why I chose to go RT4.
I'm actually really in love with what I'm doing now, which is…Continue
Hi I was hoping someone with a similar experience could offer any advice!? It would be appreciated.
I have been HCLF vegan since July 26th 2014. I run 5-6 days a week for 30-40 mins each time. I get about 6 hours of sleep a night.
I am eating a good amount of fruit and carbs:
Run on empty after drinking water when I wake up. Then...
Breakfast: 8-10 banana smoothie with 2 tbsp coconut sugar (sometimes with berries as well)
So I will admit working at a fast food restaurant is miserable 100% of the time (at least it was for me)
I had been contemplating quitting for a month now, thoughts kept swimming in my head, creating an alternate reality where I had a GOOD paying job doing what I LOVE to do (healing and cooking). Today it took just a simple upset moment to make the decision for good. I AM DONE with this establishment. Serving S*** food to fat, unhealthy people who I wanted to help and yet here I was…Continue
I haven't gone full vegan yet, i still eat other things. I am now eating more fruit than i was 2 weeks ago. I buy banana's, watermelon, grapes, peaches, cantaloupe, have not yet used my blender im not buying another blender mostly cause, i have a husband who is cheap doesn't spend unless needed on certain things. and its hard going fully vegan cause of my husband who likes to eat junk food, candy, cakes, chips, ice cream and guess whose thinner... I'm looking for any recipes that u…Continue
because they aren't carbed up!!!!!!! literally i hardly ever see my friends eating any carbs, always avoiding carbs or adding tons of dairy and meat with them which is soooo bad for them but to each their own they look at me like I'm crazy for eating so many carbs (between 2500-3000 cals) at the weight that i am which none of them understand that all my weight gain is from my past 3 year eating disorder but i feel awesome and i wish they could feel this way too. my friend jessica last night…Continue
So who here is a mom? Most of us moms are familiar with the scary stats on rising rates of obesity in the US, it’s true. Yet in between the constant stream of homework, play dates and little league, it’s not something we generally worry about day-to-day with respect to our…Continue

I've been slowly introducing fruits and vegetables to my diet over this summer before starting the raw 'till 4 diet. Today I decided to start it, this morning I had my date and banana smoothie! I definitely need to buy more bananas. I only had one left :(. After I had some grapes, and now I'm having apples. I'm probably going to have a few oranges later and some celery. I don't know what I'm doing for dinner just yet, but I'm going to make sure it's low in salt and vegan of course haha. Last…Continue
Thought I would take a moment and post this in my blog for future reference. I am around Day 512 or 513. If anyone is reading this blog, know that I have been gaining weight on a consistent basis since day 1. Some of the weight was needed (no eating disorder, but suffer from several health ailments). I have tried most everything, more cals, less cals, 100% raw, raw til 4, no b12, supplement with b12, drink 4L of water, drink less water, banana island for 12 days, monomeals, and the list…Continue
So there's no doubt that I am facing some immune issues! My immune system seems to be running on fumes and needs a good boost. a week and a half before the gallbladder attack, I had a week and a half long UTI. Strange, because at that time I was one week into a juice feast. never had I had a UTI barge in while I was doing any sort of cleanse. now the GB is getting some rest and my pains are much much less now, I have no fever and the past two days my energy levels were pretty decent!!…Continue
So I am new to the raw till 4 journey & digestive health, weight loss & overall mental sanity are my main goals at the moment. I am addicted to Medjool dates & am worried I may eat to many dates instead of other fruits which may hinder the weight loss. Can anyone give me guidance on the max amount of dates I should ideally consume in one day? Thanks x
I have not been able to run lately due to my increased weight and the strain on my knees and ankles. I used to run 13 miles with barely any effort but tonight it literally hurt to run 1 mile. I did it, though! I ran 1.5 miles nonstop. It seems like so little to many people, but it felt like a marathon to me. Going to really try to get this weight back down. I love this lifestyle, I have to make it work and I cannot keep ballooning out. I am up another three pounds. It is seriously my…Continue

Past month i've moved to europe to help my sister with her kids. my nieces... she just had a newborn and could use some help while her husband is away at work in Emirates.
First few weeks were fine...but when the sleepless nights, constant stress around family, taking care of old grandparents and kids took over started breaking me apart... i was carbing up - when i had time.. and then something happened yesterday.
I started looking at non-vegan foods…Continue
The tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, beans, and melons continue to grow, and usually harvest from these daily or weekly.
The potatoes are finally ready to be harvested. James dug up a small patch for us to eat, and they were delicious with some of our beans and corn and some sliced tomatoes.
The second lettuce crop is not growing as quickly. The spinach isn't growing quickly either. I assume it has something to do with shading issues, but really there is a lot of sun that…
i've had a healthy vegan diet for over a year now. i recently started going HLCF (yep i'm making sure I eat enough with cronometer) these past couple of weeks. I haven't really experienced much weight gain. before that i had higher sodium levels and my carb ratio was probably 60:20:20 or something like 70:10:20 etc though with less fruit & minimal cooked food (I'd still have like 5-10 "medium" sized fruits a day. My cooked food was honestly just some beans/brownrice/wholemeal pitas etc…Continue
