Raw Foodie Mistakes that I Need to Fix, and my Recovery Progress

Hey new banana friends! I was active on this site in 2010 when I first learned about raw veganism, and my how I have changed since then! (Detox symptoms--anyone? Haha Thank goodness that is behind me!)

To be brief, I was recovering from bulimia at that time (which originally began when I was 14/15 in 2008).... and I didn't know what the heck I was doing, only that I didn't feel such disordered feelings when I was eating raw vegan.

Tried durian for the first time

Day 83

Lips slowly getting better, but not great. Barn chores make them itch and red.



Acne still not letting up. Idk why.



Weight trained legs today. Not a great workout. Started to get fussy and upset, and was just mentally and physically tired by the end. Not so much my legs physically, but my nervous system.



Barn chores.



Stomach was hurting all day. Sharp pains especially when bending down to the right.

Day 91 - miserable!!

Made a few mistakes today. Did not get all my water in, tried to eat another cooked carb. Heart palps all over the place, urinary tract burning, pains, miserable. I just want my digestion to work again. So saddening that these simple things have set me back. Ugh

Okay i saw a video of a girl. Pre-Raw Success!

So about a week ago I decided I was going to do Raw Til' 4 - unintentionally. I just ended up going to the grocery store every morning during my free periods and buying fruit for the day, and eating it until dinner with my host family!

Day 82

Lips and acne still having lots of issues.



Trying not to obsess about fat gain/muscle loss etc, but having a really tough time.



Weight trained chest and abs. Not much motivation or enthusiasm on this lifestyle yet. Hopefully it will come with time.



Went to Whole Foods and got a whole case of organic grapes for $19. They were having a sale on them...99 cents per lb! I totally wish that could be everyday and wish they had deals like that on all their produce. I… Continue

BANANA ISLAND QUESTIONS...

Going on Banana Island for 8 days...maybe longer if it feels right:) Any tips? I have had some trouble feeling a bit shaky after eating a mono meal  of bananas...I come from a history of chrons and Hypoglycemia and sometimes get what seems to be a spike in blood sugar from the bananas that can occasionally turn into stomach cramps...anyone relate?? Should I incorporate celery or a veggie into my banana island? Thanks!!

Day 81

Lips and acne still not getting better.



Feeling fat and flabby all the time. I've gained about an itch of fat around my stomach, thighs, and basically just my entire body. I don't like it at all and don't understand why this has happened. My body used to be rock solid and now it's pathetic.



Ate last bit of grape tomatoes since I didn't want them to be wasted. They are so yummy. I wish they didn't cause my leaky gut to act up.

thyroid cysts

has anyone healed thyroid cysts with diet? I have a close friend who has been diagnosed with them as well as being pre-diabetic and hormonal issues as well/ it would be nice for her to read some testiomonials of real people that have overcome some of these health issues.

Bored of lettuce

Trying to eat my salad this evening and I realise I'm totally bored with lettuce. I have beautiful romaine organic lettuce, with papaya, cherry tomatoes and cucumber. Now looking down at my salad, having eaten all the tasty bits out of it, and there is this tons of lettuce left. I need some inspiration to make things more exciting, I think I have tired most of the fruity dressings recipies. but I'm craving savoury, salty and garlicky and dare I say it, olive oil!

feeling bonked........so bonked......

It's sad we live in a GMO world.  I'm eating some most likely gmo rice cakes.  it does not say non-gmo and it has soy as an ingredient.  I meant to go pick some strawberries and cherries at like 8 o clock this morning but I just feel so out of it.  Someone stuck my bananas in the fridge and I hate when they get refrigerated.  I find them best room temperature or frozen.  i suppose i could just put them in the blender if i need my glucose fix. i woke up so dehydrated today.  I just feel like…

Salads and salad dressings (or lack of)

I just recently discovered that I like salads without dressing!  This makes me so happy!  I have only found 1 or 2 raw vegan dressings that I actually liked, and of course they always had to be blended up, so that meant cleaning the blender afterwards (not a big deal, but still an extra step).  So the last few days I have eaten my salad without any dressing.  Just lots of cherry tomatoes, cucumber and shredded carrots.  And I've discovered that I like salad better that way!  :)  Tonight's…

Day 80

Lips terrible. Super itchy, raw, red, dry, chapped, and even had a tiny pus pocket on the upper lip.

Had a few new acne bumps/cystic acne on chin/jaw line.

Feeling chunky :/

Weight trained back.

4L water, 25 bananas.

Should probably do banana island to help body get back to feeling better.

Set out meal plan

I finally figured out a decent meal plan for myself. Let me know what you guys think!



Breakfast:

5 Bananas (for this I usually make banana milk from one banana and cut up the rest to make a sort of banana cereal)



Lunch:

Salad- 1/2 Romaine Heart, 1 Whole Carrot chopped, 1 Tomato chopped, 1/3 Cucumber, chopped, 2 stalks Celery chopped



Dinner:

3 boiled Sweet Potatoes with 1 Corn on the Cob, boiled

Or

3 boiled Russet Potatoes with 1/2 lb bag… Continue

Day 79

Lips and acne still at it lol. Lips a little bit more itchy than usual, but not oozing yellow or anything. They are red though and chapped/peeling still. Acne red and still have the cystic going on as well, but not much of anything new.



Weight trained shoulders today. Pretty decent workout.



Tried to eat some more organic grape tomatoes today, and surprisingly didn't have any reaction, but maybe the increased lip itchiness is one...of maybe it's from the grapes. Idk.… Continue
