30 Bananas a Day!

January 2014 Blog Posts (147)

I'm new and have quite a few questions.

As stated in the title, I am new to this lifestyle.  I have been a vegetarian for a year now, and looking to move up to the next level.  I eat all organic and non GMO.  some of my questions are....:

Why not an emphasis on vegetables?

Vegetables are rich in all sorts of nutrients, and have such a wide array of colors.  I know that other 80/10/10's promote veggies heavily.  So far from watching the videos, which are incredibly inspirational, I have only gotten…

Change of Plans

Change of plans. I have decided to do the 7 day banana detox starting tomorrow - I went shopping for fruit and ended up with tonnes of bananas instead. I'm moving back to Wollongong soon and back in with my parents, and whilst they have surprised me and cut out meat and dairy products for their health, I think it is best to eat my bananas in an environment where that's all I have to eat. When I go home there will be nuts and lots of other things I may reach for.

So excited to see… Continue

Can't eat enough! :( advice?

I just recently came to the HCRV lifestyle and I'm in love with it already! I feel so good all the time, it's even affected my mood and my happiness! The only problem is, I eat 3 bananas and I'm full already. That sucks. Because I see an entire bushel of bananas and I want to gobble them all up! but today I FELT full after only three. I'm scared if I'm not getting enough calories in my diet every day that I will GAIN wait and lose all of my lean muscle mass. :( I need some serious advice.…

Meal Spacing

Is it necessary to space meals 4-5 hours apart on this lifestyle as I have read on other raw vegan sites to help avoid triggering cortisol production?  Or does this work itself out over time as the body adapts?

Starting Sunday!!!

I will be starting this lifestyle in four days!  I have started a chronometer account, have a water filter, have a juicer, have a blender, and will visit the wholesale department of my local farmer's market on Saturday.  I plan to have the following each day:

32 oz water with lemon first thing

32oz-64oz fresh juice for breakfast

Large fruit mono-meal for lunch

Small fruit meal and salad with 1-2lb greens and 2tbsp fat (nuts, seeds, avocado, coconut,…

Smoothie Disaster

Live and learn but I have to say my morning smoothie sucked.

I have had grape and a banana smoothies before and they are great!  Sure the grape skins do make the texture a bit weird but I like it.

Well,  am stil learning and finding ripe fruit at the store has been tough and have not figured out how to buy cases of fruit and how to ripen in stages etc.  I will figure this out!

I had bought some grapes and they looked fine - had some bananas and only three were near…

Fruitarian Experiment Week 2 - Ups and Downs

I have been eating fruit during the day and then having a cooked meal in the evening. I'm still struggling to get in enough calories from fruit.

As much as possible I'm trying to source the fruit from local growers and I've found a guy who can supply me with fresh organic bananas for most of the year. Apart from him I'm struggling a bit to get the calories in. I've been getting watermelons and oranges and they are fantastic, but they're not exactly convenient to transport…

4th DAY

This is my 4th day I have been attempting to follow the lifestyle.  I am still learning about it so I am easy on myself if I mess up.  But I can already feel so many differences! My face is still breaking out some...but I know it will get better soon.  The water techniques are so strange to me. I am used to drink water all the time along with whatever I am eating, not spacing it out in between.  But it makes sense!!

Ready for Raw

Right now I'm vegan but ready for change. I can't wait to see how my body responds!! My husband is carb depleting right now and eats meat to cut down. We r both fitness competitors and I want to show him that he doesn't have to carb deplete anymore nor eat animal meat for the ripped look he wants.

Parallel Movements

I love youtube a lot. It is, pretty much, my #1 favorite website (don't worry 30BAD, you are my #2 ;D). I don't watch television at all or very rarely, youtube is much better entertainment (plus i don't have to wait through bullshit commercials, that promote lifestyle that I despise and ads for meds to deal with consiquenses of that lifestyle, every 5 minutes)

Recently I have watched a few videos by a channel named "VeganAtheist". I've stumbled upon it several times in the past, but…

Newbie Shocked by Green Machine Smoothie

I worked up the nerve to buy a "Green Machine" smoothie made by "Naked" but when I got it home it took me a week to work up up the nerve to actually drink the stuff...IT WAS AMAZING! Moral of the story for newbies like me; green smoothies look scary but taste incredible! Just dont look at it before drinking and let your taste buds 'splode!
