On my way to be fully raw vegan. Second year. Two problems so far. Salt and Cold.
Salt: Never cared for sweet but always liked salty. And I do Hot (Bikrams) Yoga and sweat a lot. This particular style of yoga is my passion! I like it hot, the hotter the better, so quitting or substituting it with some other style of yoga is not an option. In fact few years back I quit eating animal products and started transitioning to beign raw vegan to improve my yoga practice, among other things. So I am making a connection between craving salt and sweating. I've noticed that if I don't add anything salty at all no matter how much water I drink, and I drink a lot as is, I start getting headaches and just feel dry and dehydrated. I am somewhat managing my salt cravings by eating a lot of celery. But I must confess my salad dressing has organic gluten free soy sauce in it.
What the problem is then? Well, sometimes I eat too much salt and face is puffed in the morning and if I seat too much my ankles swell and it does not help with getting rid of cellulite. I know that I need to quit eating salt alltogether, I just need to figure out how to do that. I don't need salt, why do I crave it?
Cold: During the summer I would have perhaps 1 cooked meal a week. Now the cold times of the year are back and I am really struggling without hot meals unless I'm sitting at home the entire day with my fireplace going. So I am eating cooked vegan meals more often. I am thinking that if I ever make it on this lifestyle I need to move to a warmer climate.
