Salt cravings!

Eureka moment!


I had mad salt cravings this afternoon and couldn't figure out why. I was craving seaweed (like in those Japanese seaweed salads - how odd! I never crave that!)


Trot along home to cron-o-meter, and sure enough - had eaten only about 1000 calories by 5pm! YIKES!


Quickly got myself into the bananas. Voila, salt cravings gone. I'd heard other 30BaD-ers saying that salt cravings can be caused by undereating, but of course I thought…


Protein - rar!

Another naturopath appointment today, who told me that I am protein deficient. *eyeroll* which would explain some of the muscle/joint soreness I experience (post-workout soreness, mind you).  I also have a dodgy hip from an illness as a child, which plays up from time to time.


Anyway, she calculated my protein intake at around 20g. Actually according to cron-o-meter, it's more like 40g (which is 8% protein on a 2000 calorie diet). The naturopath says I need 56g for my height,…


Oh boy... zinc deficiency...

So blood test results have come up with zinc deficiency AGAIN. Haven't been deficient for 10 years or so.


I think my absorption sucks because of my previous bulimia. Probably means I need to eat more greens. I do like greens but have SUCH a tough time getting them in - it's hard enough getting enough fruity cals right now. My digestive system is probably still really whacked.

So I was bored and cleaning out the kitchen.


Blended up: OJ, mango, and pineapple. Then stirred in some passionfruit.




Nearly 2 years of lfrv and it's still possible to come up with great combos. Oh yeah.

We are indeed near Melbourne. My partner and I were staying in Melbourne for a week but we're just not made for the city. We're living in Torquay for the next few months soaking up the surf and working. 

I'd love to help organize/attend anything 811!

Hi hellcat. Yep, I completed the training. I was 90% 811 lfrv. I was eating 811 for about two months before training. Energy levels were great, however the lack of sleep was difficult to me. I'm feeling it now as all my body wants is rest. I am trying a short waterfast (day 1) to give my body a break. It's very doable on an 811 lifestyle. When I did occasionally have salt or fat I felt awful!! I since have have put salt
