Hi, I'm Kirill Gromov, I'm 20. Right now when I'm writing this I' m kinda unsure where my life is going and what I want to be. It's been a month since I'm raw vegan, I really try and follow all HCRV principles. I read 30BaD forums because I've finally realised that 811 reasonably is the perfect (or at least close to perfect) diet, but I still make plenty mistakes and have many questions to ask and clarify.
I'm pretty tall (around 6.6 feet) and never really could say I'm strong (though I'm definitely not a complete weakling, 2 years ago I could do around 8 pull-ups). Since high school I had noticed my health had been becoming worse, I had felt completely exhausted after busy days. In 2010 my condition worsened so much that it became hard to study, and plain walking exhausted me as hell.
I first started thinking about changing my diet around the start of 2011 because of worsening digestion, overall weakness and joint-related issues. My search for a better diet started from a random web article by some Russian yoga and fitness instructor in which he highly recommended hi-protein food for building muscles and improving health. Back then I thought it was pretty reasonable and forced myself to change my diet, however my digestion was so bad that I often skipped meals and felt that I'm not getting any more energy from eating foods which were supposed to give me power. And my health was still going down the hill. In May 2011 my stomach was, to put it very lightly, in a horrible state. Doctor said I might want to consider an operation, and assumed it's almost sure that the illness developed as a result of congenital joint weakness. I had to take a course of pills and prebiotics, and my digestive disorder symptoms somewhat faded. Still it didn't solve the problem in any way. My depression and weakness were killing me, and I couldn't half as much as I want because I knew my digestion wouldn't allow me that. I couldn't find any way to change this.
I desperately tried to change my diet, and luckily, it produced some results. I've learnt I'm lactose intolerant, not completely though. I tried new food every now and then: zero lactose milk, raw eggs, nuts, different obscure greens, sprouted seeds, even raw cacao. I've also learned some pretty misrepresented principles of natural hygiene. It didn't cure me, but made me feel strong for some time, however adding some new troubles. It didn't last too long though. One day I accidentally decided to watch a random vid over youtube of some guy from some conference. What he said was that he only ate raw apples, oranges, peanuts and dropped around 30 kilograms. He also told public about enzymes and immune system, and that kind of interested me. I jumped into being raw vegan almost immediately after reading his small book and reading some Russian raw vegan forum. I felt hungry, I didn't have a tooth for fruits, and the smell of cooked food suddenly became so strong I couldn't help but miss some dishes, but I already knew that every raw vegan comes through it. First, the effect was not anything significant, but even though I only ate veggies and not-so-ripe fruits and were always hungry, I felt somewhat lighter than I did before. My body weight was vanishing, and I knew I were starving, but thought it was right and that body needed time to clean itself, and after that my life would probably change.
I've learned about 811 about 2 weeks after I went raw. I decided to try it. I went to the store, bought 15 yellow bananas and ate them in one meal. It wasn't anything close to energizing of pleasurable, so I sticked to watermelons and grapes for some time. But then I started reading " The 80-10-10 Diet", and I was surprised how much it corresponds with my thoughts and scientific facts. I tried eating much more fruit, but then I didn't eat anything truly ripe.
That's all I could type in that field now.

I think the forum has pretty much every HCRV question I will ever encounter answered. Right now I'm really only starting 811 the way it should be so I just want find and follow the good examples from 30BaD communtiy.

Cool stuff happening!

Today I've finally found found swiss chard in the city! It was pretty cheap which is good, I thought it'd be sold for much higher price, especially at the place I bought it. So I came home and ate around 100g of those purple leaves . I remembered the taste - I might have eaten it at some restaurant years before. Pretty tasty, wouldn't say I'd eat much of it but cool anyway. And that's where interesting thing happened! I suddenly felt some easiness in my left nostril, like I haven't felt for…

Finally some changes for good!

First, yesterday was the day I learned what it is to eat a REALLY ripe banana. And I must say, it compares to even slightly under-ripe ones (like those it turns out I've been eating all that time) like heaven to hell. Their taste is simply unmatched by anything else I've eaten in my life, but the most important part is that I get no constipation and bloating from eating them. No slightly bitter taste, no hard parts, just pure fruit sugar bliss, and to think that it changes…

So it was sodium

Well, it's been a long time since I posted. I didn't feel like posting; to be honest, I didn't feel like doing anything at all in my life. And yes, it had a lot to do with my diet.

When I my started lfrv diet, I tried to remember all the joys of drinking water and eating sweet food, but couldn't. Eating lots of bananas made me feel so swollen, and dumb that DurianRider's advice to eat 30 of them a day to become more active sounded sarcastic for me, and drinking water just made me feel…

No more sun this year?... :(

Posted on November 23, 2011 at 2:04am 0 Comments

So the weather forecast for Moscow looks like this:

Tue Snowy -2°

Wen Sunny -1°

...And no more sunny days this year. Gosh. I desperately need some artificial alternative to the sun.

Today I tried making datorade today, but added too little water. The result was a date smoothie. Good thing about it is that it was much easier to digest than my previous efforts, bad thing is that it dehydrated the hell out of me (less than usual but still notably, and that's when I'm…

Hi Kiril, I was reading your about me section also and I'm really glad that you have been able to take your health in hand to make changes that help you!

It really is amazing how much what we eat makes a difference in how we feel. For years I lived as if eating had nothing to do with how I felt physically, I'm really not sure how I could be so stupid, well maybe blind is a better term to use, for all those years.
