I've always been really into sport nutrition and I followed the high protein diets in the past and the only time it worked was when i was doing county running and training hard 4 days a week. as soon as i eased off the weight flooded back. I always thought carbs where bad (doesn't everyone!) but when he weight piled on i just thought i had been undisciplined and i had to eat "better" and try harder. My diet was mostly raw with the addition of a bit of meat and eggs, yogurt and porridge. I used to eat loads of nuts too. i couldnt understand why i was getting so big (for me).
Whilst watching a load of food documentaries i stumbled across a vegan one called "Vegucated". It made me cry and opened my eyes and i went vegan the following day.
i was vegan for two months or so before falling upon one of freelees videos on youtube, and everything she said just started to make sense. I had struggled with high protein and high fat diets, even when running regularly (not at hard training standard but still very often). And i related to her past eating problems too.
I had nothing to lose so I jumped in feet first into rawtil4 on December 1st (2014). i haven't struggled at all. i love this lifestyle and i feel very energised. i think my wobbly bits are getting smaller but i know it's early days and i'm happy to be patient.
i'm just so happy to wake up and know what i'm going to have, and not being scared to eat and not feeling guilty when i do. I also havent desired any junk food at all. i even kept to the lifestyle on christmas day with absolute ease.
i just cant wait for my body to catch up with my mind :)
