I'm a type 1 diabetic (there's a big difference between type 1 and 2). That's the only thing hesitating me from becoming a banana girl. I'd love some advice on what to do.
Also, I have a restrictive eating disorder coupled with reactive binges.
I want to get better, but at the same time, eating really freaks me out.

Hi, Vincenzi

I had a few more thoughts regarding your path back to health.

Search for the terms that characterize your particular issues in our search bar.  The odds are good that you'll find many past discussions there with tips from those who have been successful.

You're correct that fresh fruit is optimal, but it's more important to consume enough cals and carbs, even if cooked.  Fortunately, bulk rice (and other grains) and/or potatoes are about as inexpensive per pound as you can get.  For example, a 50# sack of rice is just pennies on the pound at an Asian store.  Something like processed sugar is what I would consider true emergency sustenance.  The more whole foods you can consume, the better.

It can be very challenging to not be in a health-supportive environment.  Hopefully, we here can serve you as some semblance of a community.  There may even be some fruitbat foks in your area with whom you can connect.  Look among our "members" and here:

All the best to you, Vincenzi.  Pls keep us updated.  We'll walk by your side :)

Oh no problem at all.  It's so great you are taking your health into your own hands, Robby Barabaro has type 1 and has lowered his insulin significantly on 811rv.  http://robbybarbaro.org/  He has been doing 811rv for a few years and he is very generous with helping people and sharing information, I wouldn't hesitate to contact him with any questions.

Hey there Sol,

We don't recommend juice feasting on 30BaD, you can read about it in the Aloha to 30BaD's Welcome Wagon!  It causes blood sugar problems for anyone because of the lack of fiber.  Absorption and therefore caloric deficiency is another issue with juice feasting.  On 30BaD the focus is on the 811HC/LFRV lifestyle including fresh, ripe, raw whole foods that have their fiber and water intact therefore digest slowly allowing maximum absorption and assimilation on nutrients and keeps the whole body in balance.  This is a great video on the topic:

Wishing you the best,

Shell and The 30BaD Team
