I love to do anything outdoors, hike, bike, swim, you name it! I work full-time, and go to school part-time, so I don't have as much time to be active as i'd like, but I do my best.

I guess its day 5

Posted on January 20, 2010 at 4:53am 1 Comment

Technically, Day 5, but i'd like to say something like day 150 with how many times I have done this and been 100% for a month or so.

This time I want to look at it a little different. I seem to be an all or nothing kind of girl, but its not smart for me to think this way.

Sometimes its more than difficult to be 100% when I have work lunches where we go to a restaurant that doesnt serve anything raw. In this case, I tend to fall off the wagon altogether, but I once read a… Continue

811 Buffet :)

Posted on November 22, 2009 at 1:24pm 6 Comments

I'm SOO happy that I survived the family trip to the buffet yesterday! We went to sweet tomatoes, and I was so proud of myself. Most of my family doesn't know my diet quite yet (at least extended family).

I sat and munched on my delicious (dressing-less) salad, and indulged on the delicious fresh grapes they had. My uncle said, you better be careful you have been eating a lot of grapes, I hope you can stick around the bathroom (LOL), but I politely said, oh don't worry, I know it… Continue

Quickie Apple Island <3

Posted on November 5, 2009 at 3:40am 0 Comments

This is my second day on the apple island

Goals:
-Get a quick boost back onto the wagon
-Help my acne
-Eliminate unworthy cravings
-Strengthen my healthy appetite for raw sweet fruits and greens

3 days was my original goal. Maybe longer if I decide to, but I already believe that my goals (except the second one really) have been nearly achieved.

Banana Island Day 14- considering my options

Posted on August 6, 2009 at 7:47am 2 Comments

I'm so grateful for all the benefits i've received from my stay on this island, however today feels like its supposed to be the last day...Its kinda funny actually because last night I thought I could go for 30 or more! In fact, I absolutely believe and know I could, but I feel i've reached the end of the island, and i'm thinking about jumping in the water and swimming around for awhile! LoL

I might visit another island, depending on how I feel tomorrow, but right now, I'm just happy… Continue

Banana Island Day 13---So Excited about my Results!

Posted on August 5, 2009 at 4:35am 3 Comments

Day 13, solely bananas and water.

So this morning was really really exciting. I went about my usual morning, nice work out of cardio circuit with various high intensity work-outs that make my body feel so alive! Then I went to take my shower and get ready for work........

Well, as the water hit my hair (My hair is really long, down to my butt) it felt soooo soft, like I had dumped a gallon of conditioner on it... no.... like baby hair?! I dont know, but when i heard all… Continue

Hey, I noticed that you are in Utah.

I just started a group for Utah LFRV’s.  Please join!

It’s called the Utah Low Fat Raw Vegan Group:

http://www.30bananasaday.com/group/utah

Right now we are working on putting together a fruit/produce buying group.

What have you found are the best places to buy organic produce in Utah in the winter?  Right now I’m shopping mostly at Whole Foods and finding it can be quite expensive.  I would love to come up with a better solution.  If you have ideas, if you would please post over on the group’s page, so we can all benefit, that would be great.

I know it can be frustrating, but remember that your skin is one of the main ways the body can detox. In the long run, it's a positive thing to get rid of those toxins. You don't want them causing problems in your body. Remember that it's good for your health in the long run, and try to be patient.

You said you'd been doing it on and off, which can make a difference. If you keep interrupting your body's cleansing and make it constantly start over, you'll never get to the bottom of it. How long long have you been 100 percent 80/10/10? Also, rubbing stuff on your face is likely to make the situation worse.

I do not eat all organic. Maybe 70 percent of my greens and 10-20 percent of my fruit is organic.

If I were you, I'd try:
1) Avoiding all overt fats for awhile.
2) Drink more water. Start each day with a very large glass in the morning, and see if you can't get more in after that. I'm probably larger than you am very physically active, but I drink close to a gallon a day, in addition to what I get from fruit. You can add water to fruit to make smoothies.
3) When early summer arrives and melons are in season, try eating only watermelons for a month and see if your situation improves. This step in particular has made the difference for two people who have emailed me through my site for help a couple years back. Not sure what it is about a mono diet of melons, but it seems to improve many thing, including colitis.
4) You didn't tell me much about your diet, but of course stay 100 percent 80/10/10. Avoid all dried fruit. Make sure you're not eating anything toxic like garlic, other spices, salt, dried superfoods or powders, nuts, processed raw food, "raw" chocolate, etc.

Cold is a relative term here. I remember even last December I was getting in some days of sun on the torso in comfort.
