I've been eating around 3000 cals daily and at least 700 g of carbs. If I continue with that amount now I'm short by nearly 200 g carbs according to DR.Should I stick with the same numbers or increase my carb intake for optimal energy and weight loss?See More

I have been suffering with depression and body image issues ever since I was 10 years old. I have never been diagnosed with an eating disorder, mostly because I have never seeked help, but I have fallen into anorexia, bulimia, and just pure binge eating. I have always just wanted to make peace with food, which I thought I could do by becoming vegan. It did help for a while, but I have "fallen off the wagon" once again and am looking for something more. I do want to finally lose the extra weight I have been carrying around for years, but most importantly I want to find happiness and live a life of abundance. I want to stop the self-hate cycle and find who I really am. I believe the LFRV lifestyle will do that.

My Period is back!

After having one cycle in a year and being put on birth control by a doctor who seemed to think I had PCOS, even though I had no cysts on my ovaries, then getting off the birth control after starting this lifestyle, my period is back! I'm tired of being afraid to go fully raw. I know it sounds weird to feel that way, but I always think about, will I have enough fruit? will I have enough money to buy fruit? I KNOW I have enough money, I just keep making excuses because I'm afraid to spend too much because I'm trying to save up. There's also the fact that this is the only summer that I'll be able to work  for the next 3 years. With that and school, I'm worried about the challenges ahead. But, I'm ready to bite the bullet…

Exotic Fruit Haul!

Today I went to an Asian market up in Philly and got some really cool fruits. I got mangosteen, Vietnamese bananas, hami melon, white dragonfruit, lychees, durian, jackfruit, apple pears, and some GIANT mangoes (I believe they were called apple mangoes).

I'm waiting for some of the fruit to ripen, but I tried the durian and mangosteens today. The durian was not too bad, but not something I would want to eat a lot of. Not sure how people love the stuff. The mangosteens were pretty…

woohoo! 1 month :)

So today marks one month of me being a glucose glutton! I haven't been totally 100%, but did raw till 4 for about a week and a half. The time went by so much faster than I thought it would and my mood has changed significantly. The depressing thoughts had all the time before have occurred less and less.
