I've always been interested in trying be to a vegan but worried about protein. when i was about 20 i weighed about 120 lb and felt pretty good. i gained a couple pounds a year and probably gained some muscle too. move forward to 36 yrs old and i weighed about 155-160 and I'm still in pretty good shape. i could run 10 k in 58 min (sun run-Vancouver). i became self employed during this time as well and didn't pay much attention to my diet so i kept on the weight gain of a couple lbs a year. fast forward to 53 and i weigh 205 ouch! i wasn't sick but i had a few ailment along the way lung congestion; a little gout in my foot and a heel spur.
so about two years ago my sister in law who is the same age got sick with something she wouldn't tell us( old fashioned Filipino elder family status status & prep cook for Hyatt) so got online and started the journey learning about cancer and human physiology. the first thing i learned about was the Gerson therapy. it taught be all about toxicity and homeostasis. i was hooked. i became a vegan with in a few short months. i cooked all my meals and bought a vita mix and had a raw smoothie every day for lunch. i lost about 30 lbs but it was still easy for me to gain weight. so i decided to watch the amount o fat i was eating. you see I'm not a great cook but i get by; so the fat tasted good and it was my treat. a year ago i did the master cleanse for 17 days and lost 10 of the 35lbs i lost. once i got going on the cleanse i felt liberated on such a simple diet. i also did another master cleanse and three liver and kidney flushes a year later recommended by Andreas Moritz; i lost another 10 lbs and got down to the 165 i am now. during the two years as a vegan i started to get a little tired. my health is still good ( confirmed by my doctor).
one day a couple weeks ago i came across the 80/10/10 diet just searching for more health info, so i went to you tube and listened to some testimonials. right then i said I'm going to get the book. so while i was reading the book i decided to have a morning smoothie to add to the one i was already having for lunch. i couldn't believe the rush i felt in my head. i felt a light tingling sensation all around my scalp. I WAS HOOKED. but as soon as i decided i was doing it two days ago the first day the candida exploded and i had enough gas to drive a car. so i contacted Doug Grahams office through face book and they sent me a video link with him explaining candida. i already new a quit a bit about it because i have Rosacea and have it under control. i wonder about eating so much fruit but when he reinforced the fat link that he explained in his book i thought how interesting because i was controlling the rosacea by eliminating simple carbs ( i still ate fruit in my smoothies) and i was working. So when i took all the fat out of the smoothies the gas subsided about 30 %.
so hear i am this morning really wanting peak, awesome health. i love the simple diet. i always thought i would be cool to pop a pill and not have to think about food. now i have a really simple way of eating that i believe the sky is the limit.
