I was always someone who ate meat, cheese, and bread for almost every single meal. Every once in awhile I would look in the mirror and feel like my appearance could be improved. I would try and restrict calories and fail after a few days. By the time I was 15, I decided I wanted to eat healthier and exercise a little bit more. I started eating toast and eggs in the morning instead of a processed toaster strudel or bowl of frosted flakes and tomato, turkey, and low fat swiss cheese on pita bread for lunch. I ran every day and did a few strength exercises. It took about three months for me to loose about 5 pounds. I was happy with my success but wished I could loose more. Not to mention, I still had days where I ate entire pizzas and other horrible things! Things changed a bit when I went to a concert and PETA was there. I met a couple of people who told me "you have to go vegan!!" I told them how much I loved animals but I also loved chicken nuggets. They seemed disappointed, but not surprised at my response. PETA had given me a pamphlet and that night i decided to open it. "I am vegetarian" was what I told everyone for the next two weeks. I had cut out all meats, eggs, and was not drinking milk. Although I still ate cheese, and other foods that contained diary. I told everyone, I'm vegetarian but I will NEVER be vegan. Vegan was crazy! You couldn't eat ANYTHING! A few months went by and I found a documentary about a vegan diet. After the documentary ended I called my mom and told her to pick up some coconut milk yogurt because I was never eating a single animal product again. I ate a lot of fruits and pasta when I became vegan, but i was still eating lots of fake meats, fake cheeses, ext. I was loosing weight but I still had days where I would say "I've eaten too much" or "I need to stop eating I'm going to gain all of the weight back". I eventually found FreeLee's youtube channel and was shocked! For one, i had discovered this whole new vegan community, and two, AN ALL YOU CAN EAT DIET??? AND LOOK LIKE FREELEE? Okay. This was for me. I started the Raw till four diet, not very strictly (i occasionally ate chips and guacamole before four and was not to strict about my fats). I got away from the diet a little bit, but over the past few months I have come back to it. I eat tons of fruits in the morning and loads of pasta at night. Before, I was vegan and considerate of my health but still ate healthy vegan junk food. Now, following an almost raw diet, my entire health has improved. I cannot praise this diet enough. I love finding raw recipes and telling people about this wonderful diet. I came to 30BaD because I would love to talk to more people about this incredible life style in another place besides a few comments on social media.
