:)
I thought this story might interest you. I am personally skeptical of nutrients and or if it is really green, but at least they are trying, and this could be a solution for people living in harsh climates ie too hot or too cold or have limited water supplies.
Peace, PK
Hey Rawbert, hope you're having a great day :)
Peace, love, and happiness to the farm!
Hope all is well!
Blessings,

Hey that was totally harsh what you said about people using animals ......oh how did you say it....as an emotional attachment instead of dealing with their feelings. And totally true. I'm guilty. Was codependent with a dog I lost last summer and now have a rescue rabbit. Clears throat. Oh well......at least the rabbit can eat my odds and ends of my dinner salads.....
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a farm in the Virgin Islands, but I am skeptical about it. Bush land is $10-20 thousand per acre. There are 2 developed fruit orchards for sale here, but they want $30-40 thousand per acre. I can rent undeveloped land from the government for $50 per acre per year, but I cannot set up a long-term fruit farm and expect to reap the benefits years from now. I really like what you are doing. What is the price for land in your area? Can you get bananas and papayas to harvest year round? Do annona fruits do well there? Can you harvest strawberries all winter? It looks like there are a number of corporate farms there. Can you get some good distance from them?
Thanks,
Joe
I've been meaning to ask you how long you estimate it'll take you to be selfsuffient and are you making a food forest/permaculture? Most fruit trees take atleast a couple of years before they start producing as far as I know.
I'd grow a hell of a lot of watermelons.....Mmmmm, one of my faves *slurp*
I definately will and I'm so excited to start growing my own food - hopefully winter frost will be over real soon.
Hey Rawbert thanks for accepting my friend request. :) It's so cool to see someone gong after what they want. I'm also going to do something similar here in Denmark and I aim to grow all my own food anyway I can. Hugs Tina
