In May, I read a few books on being rawvegan and since I'm into health and feeling good and helping the environment, I jumped on the wagon. I care about animals- in fact, I'm going to law school to become an environmental lawyer- and this is the peace diet for sure. Plus I want to look fit- so that helps ;)
Here's what I found: #1 Raw vegan is the best lifestyle for me- I thrive. Before I had all of these digestive issues and some skin issues as well. I also stopped counting calories for the first time in years- so liberating. #2 Over the past 7-8 months, I have not lost weight. I actually just maintained and overate raw gourmet stuff. Now, yes, it's better than what I used to overeat. But NO it is not good because it just led me to eventually fall off the wagon in September all together and start eating crap like dairy and refined sugar stuff (about once every 3 weeks). Even though I did not touch meat after Eating Animals, my cravings for Ben and Jerrys eventually took hold of my mind. I have been struggling to be raw vegan ever since.
So I see this interview with DurianRider and Freelee, I see their glowing happiness and abundance and health and no restriction, and I WANT IT. I want peace, sustainability, and animal love. Who wants to self-destruct by binging on crap? Who wants to promote an industry where baby cows get torn from their moms, ground up and then fed back to them? WTF?!! Who wants to destroy beautiful earth? Not me. I want to- I have to- do this.

I admire your story. Thank you for sharing it with us.I Come from a history of binging myself thus researching and running into freelee and durianrider's videos. It's nice to know there are some LCRVs not to far away.

I just read your story in your profile information and I must admit that the whole "parents-being-insensitive-issue" is not foreign to what I have gone through before starting 80-10-10 journey to health, fitness and self-confidence,

BTW, what sort of yoga do you practice and how often? I recently started a daily 15 min in da morning asana routine (usually sun-salutation, cat-pose and bridge-pose). ^^
