I enjoy playing music, meditation, and yoga.
After 3 years on 811, I recently went back to a cooked vegan diet for a number of reasons. I still start the day with a large fruit smoothie, however. And there is a lot of useful information in the 30BaD discussions that will be helpful for me.

We can make a difference!

Back in January I wrote an article for a friend of mine's blog, in which I talked about how great the 80-10-10 diet is, and included links to Dr. Graham's website.

Last month someone read the article, checked out Dr. Graham's site, and now is planning on attending Health and Fitness week!

Several other people I know have been influenced to change or at least improve their diets…

30-day challenge to stay 100% LFRV - Part 4

Posted on July 20, 2011 at 12:24am 2 Comments

On June 18 I started a 30-day challenge to stay 100% LFRV, and yesterday was 30 days.

I basically did it, except for one very minor slip-up. It happened at a pot luck I attended on the 4th of July, where I enjoyed a large portion of a spinach-mango salad with too much olive oil.

The reason for this challenge is after doing 811 for 2.5 years, I can't tolerate cooked food at all anymore. It tastes great going down, but then there is a very severe reaction about 4 hours…

30-day challenge to stay 100% LFRV - Part 3

Posted on July 6, 2011 at 4:11am 2 Comments

On June 18 I started a 30-day challenge to stay 100% LFRV.

My problem is this: after doing 811 for 2.5 years, I can't tolerate any cooked food. The slightest indulgence in even the best cooked vegan food (rice, steamed veggies, etc.) gives me a terribly painful reaction. I get these intense pains in the intestines about 4 hours after the meal, and sometimes they keep me up most of the night. This must stop!

When I'm at home, everything is fine - easy to stay 100% raw.…

Really?!  I'm originally from GA, and I went to school at Georgia Southern.  It is so beautiful in the Savannah/Tybee area!  I would love to move back down there in the next few years.

Glad to help.  See my latest entry in "Spring" for a barefooting Aha! moment I had today (no, not the 80's band ;)

I've actually had my eye on Convict for a couple years now.  You'll be pleased to know that your recommendation (and that of the other guy on Aimee's thread) was the tipping point that made I creak open my wallet for the paperback at last, from Ddoor to avoid any middleman mischief.

I know I'm a long way from performing those workout moves that will make me a "real man" as defined by Wade, but I'm looking forward to learning :)

I can't vouch for the performance accurancy of the moves as per specs, but I found these vids interesting, as might you:

hi peter , yeah still doing convinc conditionning , the best bodyweight routine i've practiced so far , for sure!

as a routine i do three of the exercice one day , then the three other the other day then one day of rest and so on...

the most important thing i discover is to follow each step and not jump to a new step before everything is perfectly built up in previous step , and start at step 1 even if you feel you can do far more...

following the young blood routine is excellent for a start , and don't go too quickly to harder routine , rest is our best joker...

no special advise , everything is perfectly written in the book

the only thing i add is a bit more core exercice since i find it's a bit "light " , but except this nothing to say

and what a great introduction about spirit of bodyweight training! definitively inspirating!

have a bright day

Well, some people will burn and then go and spread the word how bad the raw food is. And since we are in the same bag it means we get our share. Very unfortunate. Anyway, we have to take care of ourselves to be the best examples of how this lifestyle can be good for us.

Thanks for the invite, Peter. Unfortunately people very often put us together with the  high fat raw food industry which is harmful both to our community and to those who out of confusion follow the high fat diet. Not even mentioning that all those studies are not worth a thing. Bad science.
