I've been following a high carb low fat vegan diet since March 2012 and have experienced amazing health, fitness, and weight loss benefits! I initially gained LOADS of weight (60lbs) coming to this lifestyle after years of chronic calorie restriction, fasting, binging/purging, overexercising, stimulant abuse, and numerous yo-yo/fad diets. It has taken me about 3 years to recover from metabolic damage, improve my health, lose 30 lbs, and get fit on this lifestyle consuming anywhere from 2500-4000 calories/day (fruits and starches) and doing easy-moderate daily exercise (cycling, jogging, walking, swimming, yoga, body weight exercises). I'm here because I'd like to connect with more people following this lifestyle and assist those who may be struggling. I also studied human nutrition at a graduate level and feel I have a lot of knowledge to bring to the table concerning how this lifestyle fits with human physiology/biology/health.
