Where to get good dates?

I've been getting my dates from my local Farmer's Market but they are quickly going out of season.  I checked the date people but they are sold out until fall.  Does anyone know of a place I can…Continue

I've been interested in health and nutrition since I can remember. In sixth grade I was on basketball teams and that is when I first really started making my health a priority. Instead of reaching for candy bars when my friends would, I'd pull out an apple or banana from my lunch bag. In my early twenties I studied massage therapy in Santa Fe, NM, at a very intensive program. There I learned quite a bit about holistic health and nutrition. I was vegetarian at this time for about five years but mostly I was not eating very healthy. Trader Joe's snack foods, tofu and burritos were my staples. After the massage therapy program I moved back to California, and I attended a 4 year masters program in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. I eagerly jumped right in and learned a lot about their philosophy very quickly. Unfortunately, Chinese Medicine recommends a lot of meat products, especially for women, to tonify the blood. I was hesitant to go down that path after having been a vegetarian for five years but I was having health concerns and all my teachers recommended that I add meat to my diet. After a while, I finally gave in and started eating some meat. Initially I felt much better and I started gaining some weight (which I was happy about). As I continued to study there, I was introduced to the Weston A. Price Foundation and became very interested in what they taught about eating a "traditional" diet. I got very into this diet and started sprouting all of my grains, fermenting foods, eating raw butter, drinking raw milk, eating grass fed beef.. But very quickly I started to feel bad. I noticed my body was heavy and I didn't seem to be digesting all those fats. After a while I noticed that when I would eat fats I would have a really intense sinking sensation like a bowling ball in my stomach pushing down on my pelvic floor. So I gradually cut down on fats but the longer this went on the less fat I could eat. At this point I began looking for answers in all directions. I was also experiencing a lot of liver and gall bladder pain. At night time, usually during dinner, I would get really dizzy and sometimes even have to excuse myself to go walk outside so I would not pass out. There were pains when I would walk that were almost crippling in my rib cage on both sides. All of this was very concerning. I went back to being vegetarian and started reading the Blue Zones book about people who have lived to be over 100 and I tried eating more like that. But at this point it was not enough... I tried many diets over the last three years. I even pursued a Health Coach Certificate to learn more about health and the teach others. I tried raw two times before but was eating more of a gourmet raw style and did not have success. I finally discoverer this path while watching some youtube videos and I found the life regenerator. He was talking about how fruit is what we are meant to eat. I had heard this before but had also heard bad things about it. The more I listened to him the more sense it made to me. Over the next week I went 100 percent raw and I did hours and hours of google searches on the topic. I found this website and I have been spending a lot of time on here reading about the diet. I read the 80/10/10 book and The Detox Miracle Source Book and several others. With each week that passes, I feel more and more alive. I feel at least 5 years younger (I'm 30) and all of my previously listed aliments feel like they are just melting away. I know I will continue on this path and I want to help others to learn how easy it can be to feel your best. I've started a youtube channel to help inspire people, as that is how I found this path, and I have a website as well. This is such a great community here at 30bananas a day and I'm really looking forward to benign part of it. I love that this is not only a compassionate lifestyle but it is good for our bodies, our minds, our spirit, the planet, the animals and all things

I love 80/10/10, The Detox Miracle Source Book, I love permaculture, being outdoors, learning and about eco-villages, I have two guinea pigs that I adore, I love rebounding, walking, meditating, being around friends, playing and listening to music, and much more.

What I ate today - First Blog post!

8:30 am - 1 quart of reverse osmosis water

9:30 am - Banana smoothie: 3 spotty bananas blended with water

12:00 pm - Banana smoothie: 3 spotty bananas blended with water

2:00 pm - 20 Zahidi dates from the farmers market

2:20 - 1 Fuji apple

3:30 - Favorite salad! One head of romaine sliced finely

Topped with 4 medium tomatoes chopped finely (I put them in my Nutribullet for three seconds and voila! Perfectly chopped.)

I have just started on this lifestyle (some weeks ago)- and looooooving it. I watch a lot of videos at the movement and read what I can find. You were talking about this guy, Darren Mcdonald? (sorry could not hear, or maybe I am not that good in English to catch the name) but anyway would you send the link to his video? I got curious :)
