From the start, I want to say in 2002 I had Ulcerative Colitis, had colon surgery & now have a J-pouch. After 7 great years of "J-pouching," I now have IBD again (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), except they call it "Chronic Pouchitis." I mention these things from the start because I hope to connect to others who are trying to heal IBD - UC or crohn's. I'm on a quest to reclaim my life from inflammatory bowel disease. Its effects have ruled my life off/on for over 13 years. I have a lot to offer this world. I would like to move beyond "how my health is." I started out with Ulcerative Colitis and had a colectomy w/J-pouch surgery. Ok, enough of that...
My hobbies are music, guitar playing, hanging out w/ my wife and dog, cycling, camping, skiing, fly-fishing, hiking. When I'm at my best I am usually playing in the outdoors - either the mountains of western Colorado or the deserts of SE Utah. I also have a weekly radio show on a local community radio station.
Last I am currently on disability. My hope is to heal my body & emotions, put a healthy amount of weight back on, be less concerned about my daily bathroom symptoms and my calorie intake. I hope to resume work again & my intent is to do something in line with my passion and moral compass & if I'm lucky it will be something that is helpful to my community and others.

I was diagnosed with pancolitis (ulcerative colitis in all of the colon) in 1987. I followed doctors advice for almost 15 years. That didn't get me anywhere but constantly sick. In 2001 I modifed my diet to include more fresh fruit. Then in 2006 I went 100% fresh foods ala 80/10/10 - no looking back since then and no more symptoms, no more doctors or drugs.
