Our community would be delighted to know you better. Please tell us more about yourself and what brought you to 30BaD. I began a change in my lifestyle the end of December. I suffered from extreme acne. I was previously doing over the counter treatments and washes. In the past I tried countless antibiotics and prescription drugs. I even took Accutane twice! I did some research on natural remedies. I found an ebook that help me go in the direction with a change in diet. I stopped all processed and refined foods. I eliminated over the counter acne treatments and medications. I also quit drinking coffee and limited my intake of read meats and fats. I noticed a change but not what I was hoping for. It soon plat-owed. Working with a natural path I was introduced into essential oils and cleanses. This did help but again stopped within a month or so. As time went on I continued to research and study acne and it's cause. I found that 3 factors need to be in place to have acne. 1: a genetic dispossession. 2: hormones, and 3: toxins in the body. So i eliminated all foods that would mess with my hormone levels and began cleanses along with a diet free of processed foods. The more I studied health and nutrition the more I heard about a raw diet. I at first tried the gourmet raw diet. I did this for about 2 maybe 3 weeks. Then I found websites on the low fat raw diet. So I researched and watched videos of Dr. Graham and then bought a few of his books along with other ebooks like "Go Fruit Yourself". I followed a LFRV diet for 4 straight months seeing huge continual results. But I soon gave into cooked foods during the summertime spent with friends who aren't healthy eaters at all. I find that I just was not carbed up enough on fruit. I still struggle staying raw but I love being vegan. It feels great! I also try to stay low fat and follow 80/10/10. I would love some support. I don't know ANYONE who eats the way I eat and want to eat. Since I've fallen off the wagon I have gained 30 lbs. Not sure if it's because of all the juice fasts I was doing 5 months ago or because of the 2 months of eating a higher fat diet. Help please :) I really would love to be LFRV once again!!

How do I get back into the swing of things??! I stay vegan but I do occasionally have a tiny bit of egg like what in a low fat mayo, but that's it. I've just been doing lots of beens, or rice cakes with PB2 (a super low fat peanut butter). I was eating chips and salsa but I cut out the chips: too much salt. I've just been craving salt lately, nothing sweet (prob because I help my sweet tooth with tons of fruit). But nights are bad. Do I need to eat even more fruit? Do I need to juice more greens to get more natural salt in my diet. AND!! What happens if I eat loads of fruit and carbs and fail to exercise?? Will I then gain weight?? I love sports and Love working out. I just need to manage my time to do it every day. Any advice?? :)
OH! I too would love to take courses and find a school for natural nutrition and health. I would love to be a health couch and a natural practitioner :) And I would love to say THANK YOU for all yall do for countless people. Yall are GREAT! :)

QUESTION!! What happens with a stretched stomach and falling off the 100% LFRV wagon? When I do eat cooked foods; ie potatoes, rice, steamed veggies, rice pasta- will I gain weight? Do I eat less calories if it's cooked? How much cooked food can I consume? As I eating 80% raw should I eat the same calorie wise as a 100% raw foodist? What happens to my body as I eat cooked food after a day of raw fruit? Will I gain weight? Should I eat less if I do this?

Please don't hate and judge me.…


So I Shouldn't Crave Cooked Foods if I Eat Enough???

I went one week not craving any foods being LFRV. I did great. Ate loads of carbs. I was eating on average 2500 to 3000 Calories a day. Every day I was not working out. On average 3-5 days a week. I have a busy job so I'm constantly moving. 

But today I wasn't satisfied. It's as if my body was missing something. But I already had close to 3000 calories intake for the day. Should I really be craving more calories?? Maybe it was fat. I hadn't had any fat for the week.

Craving chips.....HELP!

QUESTION! I crave salty foods in the evening. Am I not eating enough greens? I ask because I sure don't crave sweets but I eat LOADS of fruit. I crave chips and salsa or just chips. If I do give in I try to eat baked chips because they have less fat. I know this is still wrong. I would love to give them up for good. Any suggestions?

P.S. Run! Don't walk, to get an account at cronometer.com or similar. You will need to log all your food and drink for the first couple months iuntil you are totally used to how much you need to eat to get all your nutrition. Be sure to read that page and follow the links to their subsequent pages to read and get the "lay of the land" here and what is recommended as far as calories, macro nutrients etc. We find that when people stick to the plan it works really well, but when people don't do it, or combine high fruit with higher fat, try to calorie restrict, etc it ends not so good.

Anyway, getting all the data from logging your food intake, we will be able to help you spot and make changes should you run into problems. But if you "feel your way through" it will be a lot harder, if not impossible, to narrow down exactly what is going on and help you.
