My low fat, raw vegan journey began on August/11 after feeling completely paranoid over food, because nearly all I ate made me feel bad and I was already a whole foods vegan. I had to find a way to eat for my health lest I let myself perish or live with disease.
It was a video by Robert Morse N.D. that helped me make the connection. He said "take cheese, cooked grains and fruit - leave them outside for a few days and see which is the last to get mouldy." - That helped me understand my body had become a compost bin from all the grains I ate, and the resulting toxic byproducts were causing all sorts of ailments. It seems I have a very sensitive physiology that always struggled with the normal way of eating, even a normal vegan diet. So I decided to stop the 'no fruit" approach and give fruit another chance :)
On the before photo I was doing 1hr cardio followed by 1hr strength/toning exercises 5-6 days a week for months, on a vegetarian diet of mainly whole foods and all I did was get stronger, but not slimmer or less puffy.
On the after photo (Nov. 23/11) I'd been eating all fruit breakfast and lunch with a cooked low fat carb dinner (boiled potatoes, brown rice, yams, etc.) for 3+ months, and mainly dinner salads for a few weeks after. Doing mild 20 min workouts 3-4 days a week.
I saw the puffiness, the cellulite, the oiliness on my skin and low moods disappear. I saw my muscle tone emerge, better digestion, radiant skin and greater energy. Body odour emerges if I eat something cooked like root vegetables. My skin feels super soft and clean all the time. My need for body products has significantly decreased.
After a lifetime of calorie deprivation, I now consume around 2k (more if I manage) calories daily and I am now increasing my resistance training for better toning.
