I've been living a mostly vegetarian lifestyle for the better part of 14 years. In April 2013 I decided to eat only a Vegan diet in order to cleanse my system from the amount of high stress I had been under at my new job over the previous few months. Well, one month later I felt great! So, while on vacation in Las Vegas with my best girlfriend, I told myself, " What the heck, April is over, so things like cheese and eggs are acceptable again." Right away I felt awful, bloated, and started gaining back the few pounds I had dropped in April, making exercise and daily life difficult accomplish. Not to mention, my stomach had become very sensitive to lactose after not having consumed it for so many days. Then, after coming across information about "The China Study," and watching the documentary "Vegucated," I decided, "That's it, I'm going Vegan for good!" In late July I was researching Raw Veganism, and came across certain raw food lifestyle channels with information and recipes, etc. Among the videos I found some that repeatedly talked down on this "negative" guy, Durianrider....so I decided to see who they are talking about. Well, after watching just one of Durianrider's videos I could see that this guy was making a good point. I then clicked on a few of the suggested videos that happened to be Freelee, and knew that these two were on the right track! All of the information they provide makes perfect sense to me. So, I've decided to give it a go! I've been mostly raw vegan for only two weeks so far (it is mid-August 2013), and I already feel the vibrating difference! I was even sent on a last minute work trip, stationed in Zurich, Switzerland, for the rest of the month, and I am easily (for the most part) continuing my new lifestyle and making everyday progress here. I am so grateful to Freelee and Durianrider for all of the information they provide (without shoving products for their own profit at me)! They give such helpful knowledge, but aren't fanatics about things like some cooked carbs and starches, as well as water sources. They are real people with real expectations from themselves and others. I plan on sticking to this lifestyle for the long-term! Thank you Durianrider and Freelee for teaching the truth about food and everything in life that it affects (that would be everything)!

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
In the little spare time I have, I spend mostly with my black lab rescue dog. We go hiking, watch geeky documentaries, spend time with my family, or go to the beach. I also go jogging, cycling, or swimming. I loooove to travel. Some places I've explored: India, Nepal, Israel, Thailand, Mexico, and Switzerland. I would love to see South America someday, and also spend more time in Thailand.

I'm still in infancy with HCRV, so really I just need to stay motivated. I keep watching videos and following the sequence to make it a successful habit: Remember, Remind, and Redo every day! The biggest obstacle I have is staying HCRV in real life. By that I mean, when I am with my family, at work (they often buy catered lunch for everyone, and it's got vegetarian options at best), and when I go out with friends. Overcoming cravings when old options are right in front of me proves to be very difficult. I also often eat lunch with friends at work. Even though we bring lunch from home most of the time, sitting down and eating tons of fruit in front of them and nothing else leads to questions and judgement (as I'm sure you understand).
30bad is a fruit-focused vegan internet community which promotes a high carb fruit based vegan lifestyle free of any animal products.
