Just keep getting back on that wagon...

I think I first discovered this site in 2008.  I instantly felt in my gut that this was right for me.  This was true health.  No fad, no uncertainty as to whether this was the best way to live.

But alas, I let things, trivial things, get in my way.  Time and time again.  Trying to get a quick fix, falling further off the rails, the endless "I'll start tomorrow" cycle.

I always come back though.  Even when I go to try a fad to lose a few quick kilos I always…

Got it together

I've been gone for a while, traveling and what not.  Raw has never been too far from my mind, however, everytime I tried to go 100% I think I sabotaged it by wanting it so bad that I was always thinking about food, the food I couldn't have.

When my boyfriend and I got back from travelling around I recruited him to go raw with me for 30 days since our home was void of cooked food distractions.  And also, we didn't have any family/friend dinners coming up. (I think I will deal…

Day 1 (and no overts)

Posted on August 4, 2010 at 3:20pm 0 Comments

I've been upping my fruit intake and monitoring how I feel. I've reached the point where I am sick of cooked food binges and the way they make me feel physically and mentally. My boyfriend is away for a week so I will have a few days to get setttled in without the smells of cooked food floating around our house. I woke up thismorning and I feel different. I feel like I don't have any cravings lurking just under the surface. So I feel this is the perfect time to begin.

Had 1/4 of a… Continue

Is it true that pesticides contain hormones to render the pest infertile?

Has this led to increasing rates of infertility in humans? If not does anyone know the specific effects on humans?

I know that organic is definitely the way to go eventhough I'm not exactly sure what impact pesticides have on humans. I know that introducing foreign hormones is anything but natural. Just curious, and it will help me to not even second guess if it is worth paying the price for organic… Continue

Great to here from you! Well, good news! I've found quite a few (meaning about 5 atm) raw fooders actually living in Newcastle! I'm heading to a raw food fruitluck tomorrow actually! So yes, I would love to meet up, I'm such a believer in having heaps of people around...I think some of us might start up a co-op so we can get cheap fruit and veggies from the Sand Gate markets...

When you get back from Nepal (that is SICCCCKKK by the way), I'll probably be back from visiting my family in the States. So that will work out well...I will most likely be heading to Newcastle Uni next year, so I should still be in the area.

Keep in touch and let me know when you get back! Since I'm not on here very much anymore, emailing could probably be easier. boarderbabe94@gmail.com :D

Good luck with everything and chat soon!

In Sydney you can buy organics at wholesaler prices in bulk from Back to Eden and Organics Direct. I don't know any places in Newcastle.
For bulk conventional produce you could try:

Aloha! Thanks for the blog reply, you should try a triathlon sometime soon! Just sign up and get your arss on the starting line, no training required!

As for the gourmet raw food, I'm going to delete those pictures! I posted em up before I cut out overts/went 100% 80 10 10... They were tasty though I can't lie. But then again anything high fat and salt is a tastebud drug :o
