"Hi there! I moved to Morris County recently and saw that you had a fruitluck group back in 2014. By any chance do you still run it? It would be great to have some fruit get togethers this summer! Ttys :-)"
"If you are looking to strengthen your digestion, the best thing to do is to take a refridgerated, wide-spectrum probiotic. Maintaining healthy flora not only supports digestion but also supports the immune system. The one I take is Garden of Life…"
"So we are approaching Summer of 2015! I want to light a fire under this idea again and get it going. It's more than fine if it's just a few of us to start. Maybe it just means that we meet up at a Smoothie King and bring some more…"
"I don't have experience storing bananas in the garden but if you have a car, that might be one storage option. Outside of that, alternative caloric dense fruit options for this time of year are paw-paws (although if the season is over where you…"
"If you're going to do grains, whole, unprocessed (aside from cooking that is) is best. Noodles, pasta, and other packaged goods should be considered "sometimes foods". A better way to go would be root veggies, plantains, and other…"
"@Espirito There are some possibilities here that may explain your bloating. 1) It is possible that you are not leaving enough time between your fruit intake and your fat intake (i.e. nuts, seeds, avocado, olives, etc.). Sugar + fat simply don't…"
"If you are looking for a higher nutrient content, choose foods with color. If that is the case, purple potatoes, yams, pumpkin, and other colorful root veggies are the way to go. If you are just going for the carbs, then any white potato will do.…"
"Everyone's body is different. If you feel better and more energetic eating a smaller meal then do that. You can always eat more when you feel like it. Listen to your body and go incrementally. Or at least that's what I would do."
"Perhaps a more gradual approach would be good way to go? Go with whole fruit and veggies through the day and maybe include some of Sophie's vegan seafood with your cooked meal in the evening. Sophie's products are not an exact substitute…"

I have been vegan for about six years and was a lacto-vegetarian for ten years prior to that. As of February 2013, I have begun to transition to a vegan raw food diet. I must say that I have stumbled quite a bit when it comes to traveling. I would love to learn tips and gain support as I do not know any other raw vegans in South Jersey at this point. I look forward to making new friends and embarking on this raw food journey! :-)

I am in a long distance relationship where I travel to see my omnivore bf who is over two hours away. He is supportive of me transitioning to raw but usually doesn't have what I need to prepare my meals. I am seeking tips on how to travel with enough food for several days and/or how to survive in restaurants including other social situations. Please note that my juicer just broke down, I do not have a blender, spiralizer, and I am on a limited budget. I know collard wraps are relatively easy to make but I am looking for other such low-tech recipes that I can make to take with me. (I do have a large and small food processor)
