Last night, my 5-year-old decided to get up in the middle of the night for some strawberries. Well, she didn't close the fridge all the way.
By the time we found it in the morning, it had been opened for about 7 or 8 hours. But the only things that went bad were my husband's milk and some mayonnaise. All of the fruits and veggies were still good, as were the tofu, veggie meats, almond milk, pesto, dressings, and other veggie snacks that my non-80/10/10 family eats.
Both yesterday(Tuesday) and today(Wednesday), I ate 100% lfrv. It was great! Lots of fruit: mostly bananas and dates, but also strawberries, grapes, and frozen cherries. Tons of greens: spinach in my smoothies, a small mixed green salad with lunch, and a large mixed green salad with dinner. Last night I added avocado to my salad and it left me feeling heavy, so I skipped it today. I've always loved avocado in the past, but it felt like eating straight fat. So, transitioning was going great for awhile until yesterday and today. Both days started out the same: a healthy fruit breakfast with a healthy fruit lunch and then ending in binging on fast food takeout. Yesterday I just binged, today I binged and purged.
I feel HORRIBLE for doing this. Both days I stuffed myself until it hurt. Today, I felt like I had to force myself to vomit to get relief from the pain.
