I enjoy learning and trying to live my life with purpose and passion. Permaculture, ecological restoration, and fruit cultivation seem to be calling my name. Integrating a simple satisfying life with conscious daily commitment to my purpose is what I strive for. I'm working on refining my mission as to how I can best apply my skills and talents to make the biggest most lasting impact. I like meeting passionate present playful people.

Limon dulces (sweet lemons), yellow palmito straight out of the palm and not due to rottenness.. had some kind of indefinable amazing flavor when you bit into it, caimito, amazing passionfruit just yesterday in panama, different varieties of pipas (some super salty some hyper sweet), etc.. can't think of the rest at the moment.
Right outside of purple house there's a dude selling gigantic pipas literally 1L for 40 cents each. A watermelon vendor right beside him that I bought breakfast from 25 cent watermelon they are the super long oval ones... dude split one in half for me. The bananas here rock. David has some great fruit right now.
I was also discussing with Marissa how many raw vegans totally eschew traditional medicine and we were talking about what the balance needs to be. On the one hand you have a person like Vika who was intensely afraid of hospitals and such, on the other hand you have people who are afraid to let nature flow and let the body deal with what is usually a transient problem. Once I have my site up a couple months after I get back, that's something I would like to establish... the conditions in which medicine should be confided in. It goes beyond just confiding in mechanical adjustments... things like anti-venoms, highly concentrated isolated nutrients in certain conditions, degenerative conditions like parkinson's... nerve system damage or degeneration is irreversable... kind of like raw vegans bogusly claiming that eating such a diet grows back hair.... no sir. Our diet and lifestyle is fantastic and yields tremendous benefits but it can only do so much. A balance needs to be established and a line drawn to guide people into helping themselves make the right decisions if they so happen to fall ill or injure themselves, even while adhering to this lifestyle.
Lots of stories for sure. I got some kind of breakbone fever that fucked me up hard for 1 month almost immediately after you left.... probably because I slept horribly a few nights before when you arrived due to naturally being on guard against someone I just met, ate poorly (two bananas and an avocado from when we went on that jungle hike, walked to the market to get food, played frisbee for 30 mins then did sprints before, and walked back to the cascada before we ate? what the HELL was i thinking?) and overexerted myself my immunity got screwed. Anyway I'm all fine and dandy now my body took care of whatever I had.
Elida's Uncle from San Jose was some kind of 68 year old costa rican drug lord and got shot by two cops, both around 20 years of age, 9 times in the chest about 4 days ago so she bolted off to the funeral because she loved him as Elida was super poor when she was young and the uncle brought her family food and clothes and what not.
Yeah Vika must have been 35lbs when she died. Loren filled me in on how Vika was full of crap when she told us her mom went with her to Panama. Vika lied about so many things.... her ultimate wish was to die peacefully in a natural setting and she said and did whatever she had to so that nobody could stop her. I saw her passport picture from when she was 16 when we were going through her stuff to send to the embassy... good looking girl just totally unrecognizable from what she let happen to herself physically.
I was having this discussion whether or not Vika experienced any pain and it was pretty unanimous that we think she died a completely painless death aside from the discomfort of vomiting. Just total numbness really. The day before she died she couldn't walk... probably lost sensation in her legs.
Sad news bro vika died we found her body yesterday in her bedroom elida went to bring her oranges and there was no response i had to break the news to her mom the body is being flown to the us the embassy is coming for mementos just a very very bitter story i will fill you in with more later
well that is some great feedback. thanks. ive been barefoot for 6 months now and have been really enjoying it. i have also been running about two times a week for a couple months on the concrete, and now am running nearly every day barefoot. it is wonderful. I have to agree with you as i can't really run much more than the soles of my feet can handle. recently so i can run everyday i have been going up to the university track during breaks and running on the track or the turf field they have. if i run more than like 3 miles on really gravely asphalt then my callouses start to wear. im just breaking into my feet slow and easy. haha
