Hey, everyone, I'm Gwen. I'm a dancer, fetish model and live performer. It was actually a FB ad that brought me through a trail of websites that eventually brought me here.

I was raised on the SAD and as a member of a latin family there was a lot of meat. I became pescetarian about 4 years ago in an effort to lose weight and it worked but I would get into a cycle of eating pescetarian until the weight came off and then going back to the SAD. Then I learned about the environmental impact of eating meat/dairy/eggs and gave veganism a try. What made that difficult is that I met my now fiancee the day I decided to go vegan and he has no intention of not eating meat. Ever. (We just had our 3 year anniversary so he's not going anywhere. lol.) I would make vegan meals but would cook a piece of meat for him to enjoy along with it. I felt guilty "forcing" him to eat the way I do. After a while, it just didn't last and I went back yet again to eating crap.

I had heard about the raw food movement but it seemed like a lot of work that required all this special equipment and hours of work just for one meal. I never gave it a serious thought until I learned that you can live off of fruits, veggies and seeds/nuts. I love those foods and I didn't know that's how I am designed to eat. I have been giving it a shot and it's a struggle. Mostly because I haven't quite gotten the hang of measuring how much food I will go through in a day and I end up over or underestimating. When I'm hungry, I need to eat NOW and I will end up eating whatever is there if I'm out of fruit. If I buy too much the fruit goes bad and I have to throw it away which makes me nervous about buying so much fruit and the cycle continues. Surprisingly, my boyfriends diet does not effect my eating decisions anymore. He can eat a steak in front of me if he wants and I'm happy with my fruit. I feel energized and healthy and I just don't want his food. My main obstacle is simply learning how to gauge how much food I need to keep in the house.

My main obstacle is that I either have too much fruit in the house and it goes bad or not enough and I end up eating my boyfriend's cooked food. If I run out of fruit it's almost impossible to find ripe fruit on the fly so I end up having to eat something else. I don't know how to make sure I have plenty of ripe fruit in the house without having so much that I'm constantly throwing it away. I don't have enough experience to have the scales balanced out. Right now they keep swinging back and forth.

Gwendolyn (love the name by the way) When I first started out on the LFRV diet I had the same problem with knowing how much fruit I needed then I found out about http://cronometer.com/ and that doesn't happen anymore. When you put your information into the CRON-O-Meter it tells you how many calories you need everyday and also how many calories are in fruits and veggies so I just looked up the fruit I wanted to eat during the week and added up the calories totaling the daily calories I needed. So I have a weekly menu planned out and I make my shopping list from that. I do buy a little extra fruit than needed just in case but so far its working out for me. I hope this helps :-)
