We are a young married fruitarian couple from California who enjoy being active and living close to nature.
We are moving to Big Island this June (2014)!
We don't know anybody there and are now trying to contact local people who are into sustainable living. We are reaching out to you, to become part of your strong network of growers and raw eaters.
Our passion is enjoying the tastiest most nutritious fruits, enjoying sunshine, and growing the world around us into a more sustainable place.
We love watching raw fooders' Youtube channels. Their videos give us so much motivation and wonderful inspiration!
Our dream is to create and live in a sustainable Hawaiian food forest like Coconut Chris!
We feel it's time for us to experience fantastic tropical fruits and are ready to start planting.
It would be an honor to visit an established food forest to work and learn about planting, nurturing, caring, and harvesting tropical fruits and plants. If you have any contacts you like to share, advice or recommendation about moving to Hawaii, it would be so appreciated!
We have many skills and interests that we would like to share. Perhaps something we do would be useful to you or someone you know.
We study: permaculture gardening using swales and building soil fertility, natural building techniques, improving communication and understanding, bringing more joy into your life, how to live well on a raw vegan simple diet, growing, harvesting and using bamboo, passive water collection, wild local plants.
We do: full body massage, sewing, foraging, Japanese-English translation, woodwork with hand and power tools, bamboo construction, repairing buildings, tree climbing, finding the ripest fruit, watercolor painting, animation, web design, seaweed harvesting and drying, yoga, any DIY things we need.
We make: Passive solar dehydrator, magical copper wind chimes, custom canvas backpacks, palm/coconut leaf weaving, woven branch baskets, comfy 100% natural fiber clothing, bamboo flutes, bamboo didgeridoo, wooden juice press, tables, chairs, anything useful and beautiful! We love using natural materials like wood, cotton, hemp, bamboo, rock, palm branches.
