I came across the website after finding Harley and Freelee's YouTube channels. I have been thinking about becoming vegan for some time now and after watching hours of YouTube videos, Cowspiracy, reading Carb the Fuck up and 80/10/10 along with countless blogs and websites, I knew it was time to make a change in my life. Not just to improve my health, but for the planet and all life as a whole. I've been troubled with my eating in the past and have suffered from Crohn's disease since I was in my teens, which has been in remission for many years now. Although I don't hold my diet responsible for this, as it hasn't been the best and I have been a heavy drinker/smoker among other things in recent years. I feel I've been able to hold off almost all of the previous symptoms which would sometimes leave me bed ridden, through mind power and positive mental attitude. But I know that my body is not invincible and has become tired of the punishment I've tortured it with. So for the betterment of my life, animals lives and the planet, I've decided to start a vegan lifestyle. I've been slowly moving towards more fruits and veg for the last 9 months only eating meat one meal a day. I've hit the pitfalls of not eating enough healthy carbs and ending up eating junk, although I have managed to control it a lot better now. I've also not had a single alcoholic drink for nine months and have decided that smoking is not for me more recently. I'm doing more exercise and I've started eating more bananas than I ever thought I would consume :) even though I'm being told by people in my life that any more than 6 will kill me. Debunked that one for them by throwing 10 in a blender and drinking it infront of them, some still believe it will kill you though. I can see how much resistence there is toward this lifestyle from people in general and although I do have people in my life that are supportive and some that are also considering making the change to a vegan lifestyle. I'm joining this site in the hope that there is a community of people willing to help and encourage a newby looking to make a difference.

The easiest ways to maintain this lifestyle so as to not fall off the fruit wagon. I don't want to consume animal products anymore for a number of reasons, but I have been doing so my entire life. So I want to know that encouragement and support is there should I ever feel myself sliping back into old habits, even though I have no intention of doing so. Any tips on maintaining a fruit only diet and how to reduce costs would also be awesome. I would like to increase my fitness levels and also build up muscle, so any advice in this area would be appreciated.
