I'm Caro, a 24 yr old West Coast girl that love, love, loves the wild outdoors, During the day I am a hairstylist (only use vegan products!) and by night I am an aspiring clothing designer with a focus on using sustainable materials. I have done distance learning (like independent homeschooling) since I was 12 yrs old and that has influenced me to be the kind of person that likes to figure things out for themselves and has a bit of a hard time being told what to do... I like to "good Will Hunting it" a lot and love how much you can learn from the internet and through social sharing!
I came across this community initially by randomly discovering Loni Jane on Instagram and then coming across Freelee & Harley soon after. I would like to join this community as a resource for knowledge and support as I have struggled with taking complete control and responsibility for my health for 3 years now and resulted in a 27 kg weight gain. I was a vegetarian, then vegan for many years and did really well with it. Then, 3 years ago I lost my brother in a very traumatic and unexpected tragedy and I completely fell apart. For a few weeks my family was provided food by others and none of it was vegan. In such an intense state of grief I couldn't find it in myself to care for animals or much of anything anymore and so, much to my regret, I completely fell off the bandwagon. I have made enormous headway in recovering from this experience but the gaping area in my life where I have lost control is in my relationship with food. It has come to a point now where I am really starting to look at my health and well-being seriously, and realize its all part of the bigger picture if I want to find success in the other parts of my life too. I'm ready to turn that around for myself and the greater good of our planet now. My intention is to transition to HCLFRaw'til4 veganism as a lifestyle.
Phew, It feels really good to declare that! I'm not usually so honest and open about my past with others. Despite this rather intense write up I am otherwise just a fun-loving flower child who just wants to create and share and laugh. I look forward getting to know this community better and who knows, maybe I'll make it out to the Thai Fruit Fest one of these days!

I am looking for tough love where I need it most - being unsure about how I can make this lifestyle work socially, financially, and permanently. Any resources and info you can point me in the direction of would be awesome. I feel like the more I truly understand this lifestyle the easier it will become.
