Grew up in Australia, live in Mexico. I'm Brydie, 20 years old, and here's my story.

The one thing I can remember that never changed for me is wanting to change my body. I always have had a problem with the way I looked. I couldn't figure out why other girls could have wonderful toned legs and mine just weren't. In my teen years I discovered I could get more pro-active about this self hate with starvation (because that's the first thing on the market isn't it?), excessive working out, only eating celery sticks during the day, skipping breakfast. And so I did, I tried absolutely everything, wondering when my desire for being consistent with one of these things would kick in. This went on for years. Until I hit 17 and discovered my digestive system was failing to digest anything. My naturopath gave me a bunch of pills that where supposed to work. But the acne, weight fluctuation, constipation, dissatisfaction with the way I looked continued for another 2 years. I was drinking heavily throughout my teens too. So I hit 19 years and was given a book "I QUIT SUGAR" by Sarah Wilson by a friend who swore by it. I read it, and was convinced that I was addicted to sugar and took her blind accusation of being an 'emotional eater'. I attempted her 8 week fruit detox program, trying to fill myself with eggs and fats from nuts and seeds, avoiding the deadly banana's at all costs!
2 weeks on this diet had me, tired bored and regularly binging on chocolate. I felt horrible. My digestive system had hit a new low. My relationship with food was horrendous. Every night I would go to bed wondering how I would work off all the calories that I just ate, constant paranoia of how I should be exercising or shouldn't be eating. I envied the girls who could eat McDonalds and still look like Miranda Kerr. I finally settled into my low self esteemed 'fat' body accepting that I had horrible genes and would never be one of the lucky ones.

Until.

I had a close friend who had mentioned she had recently turned vegan over a dinner where I was eating pizza and she was eating salad. You know what my first thought was don't you, looking down at my cheesy goop thinking… "I could never do that, but boy I wish I was strong enough to". She began to tell me it felt like a "different kind of full". I wondered how you could POSSIBLY feel full of a few pieces of fruit that just left you more hungry than you where in the first place.

One day here at work in Mexico, I was double over with stomach pain, couldn't even sit up and do my work. My vegan friend left me a note on my desk saying "Check out free lee the banana girl, she's from australia like you and she's got some really great advice". Desperate for change I looked up her videos, the first I found was exploring "emotional eating". It. Was. A. Miracle. I sat there for 2 hours combing through her youtube channel alarmed that this could really, really, really be true. That day I started. I ate my first mono meal of oranges and was left in giggles after I finished at how easy it went into my stomach.

It has been about 6 months since then. And I have been hooked on banana smoothies. So far, I have fallen off the bandwagon a couple of times, only to come quickly back as my body clearly instructed. I can confidently say I'm committed to this.

I have experienced, weight gain, my skin clearing up, no more head aches, a happier mood, a WAY BETTER digestive system. I'm looking forward and hoping for much much more.

I hope this was informative enough! I'm excited to be here :)

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
Walking and running on my favorite beaches in Mexico.

C.S. Lewis is a mind-blowingly GOOD author.

My favorite pastime at the moment would have to be skyping with my friends at home since I live in Mexico.
We recommend you purchase Freelee's ebook "Go fruit Yourself!". It is a must-read for newbies to the high carb raw vegan lifestyle.

I need to get more variety in my diet.

I need to get better and knowing how to combine foods to suit my body because right now I'm making a lot of mistakes!

I need to be reminded that even though I'm gaining a lot of weight, that it won't be this way forever.

I need to be in a encouraging community.

I need to get better at knowing how to do this in social situations.

I want to be better educated on this lifestyle so when I tell people about it hopefully they cotton on too!
