Hi! Today is day 24 of 811rv for me. I've been eating around 2K calories per day and mostly mono-meals. I'm having a pound of greens at dinner most nights too. Last night I started feeling really…Continue

I'm a 30-something, homeschooling mom to four kids. I've been on almost every diet known to man over the years. Last year (about the end of September), the Husband and I watched Forks over Knives. This prompted the Husband to declare that we were going to give the vegan thing a try. By October 9th, we had eliminated animal products from our diet. We felt great, but I noticed that the Husband's clock was reversing faster than mine, so I began to look into raw vegan and stumbled upon 80/10/10. I went HCRV in December for 60+ days, felt absolutely incredible... and then caved for spring rolls. I've been trying to return permanently to raw ever since. Once you've tapped into that kind of energy, nothing else will suffice. Cooked food makes me feel horrible now. I've lurked at 30BaD off and on since my first raw run. I'm finding that I need to communicate with people who "get it". The Husband is supportive (and is doing raw with me currently), but he isn't convinced it's necessarily "better"... yet. I think he'll cross over though. Also, my youngest daughter is begging to be raw with me. The other three kids don't want to give up their cooked food. I talk to anyone who will listen about this way of eating, but it would be nice to talk to people who aren't in opposition to it.

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
I enjoy writing, hiking, running, tae kwon do, and skating. All time favorite movie is "It's a Wonderful Life". Current favorite movie is "Inception". I don't have a ton of time to read for enjoyment, homeschooling four kids is an over-time job :)

Mostly, I'm looking for encouragement to stick to HCRV in a cooked world. I have already witnessed what it can do for my fitness performance. To go from it taking me two miles to warm up on a run down to about a quarter mile was amazing. In April I suffered a double knee injury that put me out of running for several weeks... but I still completed a half-marathon in May. Then the first week of June I broke my big toe. I'm just beginning to run on it again... so I'm rebuilding... which is frustrating. I also have some pounds to shed. I truly thought that simply becoming vegan would take this weight off, but it hasn't. HCRV is the only thing that has worked to budge that scale lately. So, I need encouragement to go for my goals despite feeling like an oddball (which you'd think I'd be accustomed to being a homeschool family).
30bad is a fruit-focused vegan internet community which promotes a high carb fruit based vegan lifestyle free of any animal products. We also require our members to post with proper netiquette. Therefore, please indicate your intention:
I will comply despite some disagreement since I am a team player
