I have been trying to fine tune my raw vegan diet, but I'm facing some a couple of serious issues. The biggest issue I have is extremely dry hands and feet when eating small amounts of fat. I can't eat more than a couple of tbs of flax seeds every day without gaining weight (with unlimited fruit/starch), but even when I eat that plus 4 tbs of hemp seeds, I still have fairly dry hands and would need to add 1/4-1/2 an avocado on top of that to get back to perfectly lubricated skin. As it stands, the best I can think to do is to increase the fat and eat cooked starches instead of fruit, because that allowed me to maintain a slim figure in the past while avoiding this severe dryness. To specify, my hands get so dry that flossing splits my skin on my fingers, and it then forms a rock hard crust instead healing properly.
The other issue is that when I tried to eat cooked foods after months of being raw, I could not tolerate it. Plain steamed vegetables and rice cause me heavy inflammation in my face, and I can even sometimes get a headache. It's not exactly the worst thing in the world to be forced to eat 100% raw all the time, but I'd like the option of eating some cooked if I needed to or wanted to get some nutrient that can only be synthesized with heat, like zingerone.
